Cotton is pretty good and there are 2 bars on the floor above. I was there a few Friday nights back. Planters is the name of one of them.

Johnny's seems to be a fairly polarizing pizza parlor. The commercials were prolific during the espn+ broadcast of the USA-ULM baseball series last spring, and they depicted a visually appealing pizza. I started a thread on the food board about it and got responses ranging from "the best" to "&!$%ing (stinks)" amongst the 3 pages of replies. While I may turn out to be disappointed, I am resolved to experience it and decide for myself.
The quality varies greatly by which Johnny's you go to. Order from the one in Sterlington, or better yet, order from Revival Pizza in Sterlington. It's been awesome every time I've gone. Look them up on Facebook if you have it. Awesome atmosphere, really awesome decorations. Enoch's has the best burger in town. Kelsey, Morgan and Colson are awesome bartenders.

As many others have said I would not bother with the zoo. I went 5-6 years ago and it was awful. It's in a terrible area too.
As far as restaurants my favorite is Cotton. It has a really cool rustic vibe and the food is great. Waterfront has great food too, but doesn't have the ambiance that Cotton has.
Warehouse #1 is a great seafood joint. If you like Italian Genusa's is terrific. I've never been to Parish, but I've heard it's good.
If you're looking for a good sports bar type of place I really like Daq's on Forsythe Ave.

Based on the mention of the Long Island Iced Teas at the Airport Lounge, this is the only credible review.
Is the actual Airport Lounge open again or are you talking about Miss Nell's Airport Lounge on Bres? She lost her lease at the actual airport some years ago. They claimed they were converting it to office space but then one of Mayo's buddies opened it back up. I thought it had closed again since then.
I remember years ago, (in the Miss Nell days), this girl was telling me how much she loved the Airport Lounge because of all the interesting people she met. I didn't have the heart to tell her that most of those doctors, photographers, and astronauts were just getting off work at Red Lobster.

Go to the zoo and ride the train. Feel like a kid again. Lol Catfish Charlies on Louisville is good fish and seafood.
Tour the Biedenharn museum. Great coca cola exhibit there. It's a Hidden gem in Monroe.

Enoch’s sucks now. They stopped making hand pattied burgers last time I went because I got a hockey puck of shitty soy burger at best.

Not sure if that train has been in operation in 20 years. Honestly the zoo would be a huge waste of time imo. I think it has a few nice exhibits but it is grossly underkept and in pretty rough shape. However the Biedenharn Museum is actually an awesome idea. As you said, it is very well maintained and has a pretty cool backstory with the Coca Cola exhibit. It's a good way to kill an hour. Plus you can drive down Forsythe and see my former high school, Neville.
There is also a pretty cool nature exhibit out at Black Bayou NWR down Highway 165 from campus toward Sterlington if you are into looking at outdoor shite.
As for food, a lot of good options have been thrown out. I actually think Monroe has some pretty legit places to eat. Doe's Steakhouse has some damn good steaks. I mean really good but that's me so take that with a grain of salt since I think Johnny's Pizza is pretty good too. The Warehouse has a good menu with some good seafood options. It also has a nice bar area with good views of the river. As mentioned, Waterfront is close to campus and has good food. Genusa's is an old school Monroe Italian option and Cotton's and Parish are probably the 2 most upper tier places in town. So, as you can see, there really isn't a shortage of places to grub.

Best restaurant in town to me is Mohawk Tavern on Louisville. Get the surf and turf. Excellent service, great atmosphere, even better food. They always have good oysters. I've been going since I was little and have never gotten sick from them. Portico is really good too.

They made the incredibly stupid decision to fire Tom. It was getting better.
It’ll go to hell again.

Chenault museum is close to airport and interesting if you are into WWII.
Southern Heritage is an air museum near Tallulah. It's not too far from I-20 if you're coming in from the east.

I appreciate everyone’s input. It seems that I have a great deal to look forward to. I’ll be sure to provide a full recap after the weekend.
