Everyone knows about the Biden Crime Family's activities.

But, what does that have to do with Gaetz being booed because he claimed on the House floor that he only receives small, individual campaign contributions and other House members knew he was lying?

Ironically laying the foundation for Big Donors lining up for him in a Florida governors race. But there are exceptions to every rule. Sort of like cozying up with Democrats to tale someone down for cozying up with Democrats.

How do folks reconcile that?? That alone tells me all I need to know about who’s got the most and least legitimate views on this.

The report I referenced says 80% from the Top 20 donors: $165,690 out of $207,467 in the 2019/2020 election cycle.

I was looking at 2022.

But funny enough went and looked at 2020 and contributions <$200 was 64%, even higher.

Lol

You are blowing hot air.

The whole corporate vs individual donors is epic bullshite. I was a finance director for several republican congressional races. All the corporate donors do is have every member of their family and key employee donate the max amount

Number of contributions over $200? Yeah, so?

His largest single contribution in 2020 came from Equity Group Investments for $25,200 is more than 12% of his total donated funds. ONE DONOR!!

Come on....Ted is all giddy about this. Besides Gaetz lost his big money when Alford went to prison.

Except for smaller donations below 250. You don't have to disclose the names on those.

Gaetz has a safe seat in a crimson area.

He"s sleazy, of course. Trolling the beaches of Destin and Ft Walton for high school seniors

Gaetz could literally spend nothing and probably win his district.

From the OP:
quote:

Gaetz basically tells the Rino his contributions come from street level Americans who want change in DC and the donations are typically under $30 from each donor
Is the OP incorrect?

I just looked at his 2020 reelection campaign finance report and his top 20 campaign donors made up 80% of his total contributions that cycle.

And all twenty of those donors were corporate, not individual, donors with 8 of them classified as having hired registered lobbyists.

Someone else posted this earlier to make a similar point.

If you look at the list of donors for 2020 vs 2022 on Open Secrets, many of the big, familiar names at the top of the 2020 list like Lockheed & L3 are nowhere to be found on the 2022 list. While this might have something to do with timing or other factors, it might be just as reasonable to say that either those big, lobbyist heavy donors no longer support Gaetz and/or he no longer answers to them.

Also compare the top 10 or so donors of Gaetz to McCarthy, Jeffries, Scalise, Schumer and others. The top donor for McCarthy (a pro Israel org) is almost half of Gaetz total receipts. Schumer's top single donor is over $300k, which is about $100k more than the aggregate contributions of the top 356 listed donors for Gaetz that gave him a combined $207k.

I don't idolize or go out of my way to defend any politician. At a glance, though, Gaetz seems to be more credible than the first few names in the House I looked at with regards to his claim that his campaign funding is from working people and not big corporations.

His biggest dollar donor now appears to be the Wall Street titan, the Babylon Bee.

Well, I mean…. They have to be an open book. It’s a legal requirement for each campaign to release their list of donors. How much they donate. When they donate. Their names, addresses, etc.

It’s all public information. For every single politician at every single level.

Less than. Are you not reading the link from open secrets you posted?

That’s where I got the numbers. From your link.

And again, his current big donor is a truck company and Babylon Bee.
