Who is the most likely USA Ryder Cup Captain for 2025 at Bethpage?

I would think it would be Tiger, if he wants it that soon.
Mickelson should be a captain eventually, but I would think he is damaged goods right now. He may never get it.

As the results since Medinah have shown, the captain on home soil doesn't matter. The visitors are going to get obliterated. The real question is who will lead the team into Adare Manor in 2027.
Maybe it should be someone involved in golf that wasn't a Ryder Cup player. There needs to be some sort of change, because nothing is working on the road.

Phil may have burned too many bridges with the people who make these types of decisions, and he certainly hasn't done anything to repair those relationships
I could see a guy like Stewart Cink or Justin Leonard being the captain in 2025. Not sure Tiger would want to yet

Agreed with this. ‘25 should be Tiger captaining at Bethpage. The crowds and scene would be insane.
‘27 on the road needs to be someone who will break the mold of the good old boy network. It most likely won’t be Phil due to the bridges he’s burned. You need someone who is aged like Crenshaw was. Leonard would be a good choice.

I love Phil, and Phil at Bethpage would be awesome.
But there is 0 chance he’s Ryder Cup captain in 2025. Too many bridges have been burnt.
Maybe some time about 10-15 years down the road if some things simmer down between the LIV guys and PGA guys, but at this time there is no chance.

It’s alternate shot we got dominated. I mean I truly don’t know how you “figure out” alternate shot. It seems random as shite to me

I think Tiger or Phil makes the most sense because of the site. But Phil might be two years too soon. Honestly, I'd be fine giving him a chance at Adare Manor in 27 since we can't find any normal way to win a European Ryder Cup.

We use the same process for both home and away
That’s my point. It’s RANDOM. We aren’t anymore buddy system or united at home/away, but the alternate shot scores are completely different. So the variable is something other than our selection process and captains
I tend to think the foursomes variable if there is one is more course setup, which you can’t do anything about that
