I'll soon turn 34 and never watched any horror growing up. I don't know if it's because watching all that cheese from the lens of 2023, but it was easily the worst movie I have ever seen. I did nothing but talk about and critique every cliche and ridiculous action taken in it, down to a double-barrel shotgun taking three shots. The acting was horrendous and I didn't find anything actually scary. I know it has a cult following, but I just don't get it.

the opening scene was actually based on a true story.

Unsolved Mysteries - Dennis Depue Story (Coldwater, Michigan)

edited to use the Robert Stack episode

The first 30 minutes of that movie is top notch quality horror. And then it sort of falls off a cliff. Should've never revealed it's true form which I thought was pretty stupid. If it had been something more along the lines of that creepy old guy from Poltergeist 3 then it would've been much better.

It was meant to be a bad B style movie that borders on dark comedy.

lol I promise I'm not that type of person. I just wanted to see if this was truly a movie held in high-esteem within the horror genre.

I felt like 50% of screen time was this guy looking like this

The movie is below 50% on RT. Not sure what kind of point here you are trying to make. Nobody thinks it is some amazing movie. Maybe you just don't understand how cult followings work?

Sorry we can't help you out more.

The first 20-30 minutes or so are pretty good. But once the creeper actually shows up it goes straight down the drain.

Also, the director is a convicted pedo so he can get fricked.

Thanks for reminding me to add this movie to the "Millennial Horror" section of my Horror movie guide.

There is a narrow demographic that swears by this movie

Agreed. Saw it in the theater at the behest of my fiend who swore it was going to be incredible.

By the end of the second act, everyone in the theater was openly MST3King it. My buddy who had hyped it up so much was *pissed* to be so disappointed.

I don't support Victor Salva

He went to prison for filming himself blowing a 14 year old actor from one of his early films

Got out and Hollywood let him go right back to work with children
