right, you're getting emotional. don't. Just respond you disagree and if they want to continue to pursue this they'll be talking directly to your attorney. him being a jerk and you having a kid don't matter.

Let me guess, you are an absentee landlord with a tenant straight out of the trailer park.

The tenant was vetted and has been there less than a week. When I originally moved in I was told that there would be "something done" about the rent house next to mine and nothing ever was. Ironically the rent house was occupied by the only black family in the three-street neighborhood. Weird.

Why is it hard to comprehend? We are a society of laws and regulations. My HOA fees go towards two pools, a playground, weekly concerts and food trucks, a marina, a town center with a Publix and maintenance and landscaping of the entire neighborhood. I don't have to worry about spending a 850K on a home and my neighbor being some dipshit that can't be bothered to keep their house presentable. Louisiana is full of neighborhoods with cars parked in front yards, trash and shite strewn all over the place, and every financed toy proudly displayed in the driveway. No thanks

I don't disagree with this sentiment but I had to get a couple body blows in before an attorney knocks this dip shite out. Calling him stupid and telling him to frick off made me feel significantly better and doesn't change the fact that he legally can't do shite. I wanted him to feel like an arse because he is one.

Why would I make friends with someone that harasses me? These ding dongs sit in a little group in someone's driveway every afternoon bitching about the three people that don't attend.

I was unaware that these were the only 2 choices in neighborhoods.

When we first moved into the house we are in now, the garbage service got cutoff unexpectedly about a month in. When i called the service and asked why they told me the HOA put a stop pickup on our house due to unpaid dues. I called the people and asked how we had unpaid dues when we had moved in the month prior and had been told that dues would be paid at the end of the year. They told me the prior owners knew they were moving so they didn't pay and it would be my responsibility to do so. After spending about 2 hours of my life arguing they finally waived it and restored service.

So far that's my only interaction with them. Hopefully it stays that way.

The beings in these hoas are little hitlers that hate their lives, regular jobs and use their position to get their frustrations out.

I've lived in multiple neighborhoods over the years that had an HOA.

The only people I've ever heard of saying the HOA was harassing them were people that either didn't read the covenants before moving in or people that think the HOA should make an exception just for them.

I'm sure there's cases out there of some power mad Karens trying to flex, but I've been lucky enough to avoid that so far.

When you live in a neighborhood with no HOA, no matter how nice you think it is, there is no recourse if that happens.

In 2018 we built a new home on the Northshore, new neighborhood 1.5 acre lots. MFer down the street filled their back yard with chickens, horses, pigs, and all sorts of unpermitted bullshite. The people behind our rent house in mandeville built a home made fence after the last hurricane complete with every single nail and screw coming out the runners, the pickets oddly spaced and crooked. They also built a chicken coop.

HOAs are designed to protect property values and provide amenities. You get Karen’s in every facet of the world. We had to go through and approval process for our fence, I’d much rather do that then everyone have a different style and type of fence in the neighborhood.

If someone wants to paint their house like that then let em. What someone does to their own property is their own business.

If someone wants to go 150mph in a school zone let them, what they do with their new corvette is their own business.

you don’t need an HOA to prevent shite like that from happening.

Then don't buy a home where HOA covenants are present. What you do with your own property when an HOA is present is not your own business.

The solution is simple. Don't buy in the neighborhood.

But we have "bitch about HOA" threads pretty often, so they don't appear to be all great.

Because most people bitching about them have been reprimanded for not being a responsible home owner and feel like a child for being corrected. Others, happily live by them and go about their day and take care of things.
