I don't disagree with this sentiment but I had to get a couple body blows in before an attorney knocks this dip shite out. The tenant was vetted and has been there less than a week. When I originally moved in I was told that there would be "something done" about the rent house next to mine and nothing ever was. Ironically the rent house was occupied by the only black family in the three-street neighborhood. Weird.

No and even the amended bylaws mentioned previously do not state specifically that I cannot lease my home. The bylaws were reviewed by a real estate attorney prior to listing. I told the HOA president that if he steps foot on the property or harasses my tenant that I'll contact the proper authorities.

There is also a rent house NEXT DOOR to mine that hasn't received similar scrutiny or annoyance from captain dickhead.
General Use Covenants

All homes in X subdivision shall be used for residential purposes only, with only the main structure utilized for residence. No apartments, multi-family rentals, fraternity, or sorority houses, group homes for the rehabilitation of unrelated individuals to the extent allowed by law, retail shops, beauty shops, churches, schools, or group assembly halls, (as an illustrative listing), are permitted. Short-term rentals of less than six months are specifically designated as commercial use and are prohibited. No dwelling may be subdivided for sale or utilized as a time-share unit.

My tenant is in a year lease and residential leases are not considered "commercial use."

Tell me I'm wrong though.
Currently dealing with a tyrant who clearly can't interpret the bylaws regarding the lease of my home.

Anyone else have horror stories involving an HOA harassing them or their tenants?
