Well, the first thing you could do is go back over the last 5 years and compare how many things started out as a nut job conspiracy that ended up truthful. Of course, once you do that you may end up being one of those crazy conspiracy parents instead...

Are you really that obtuse?

How about the Covid19 being a bio-weapon released from a laboratory in Chyna and not a random wet-market bat disease?

Do you recall that one?

Or how about the one about states illegally changing their voting laws (by changing them outside the means their state constitutions call for) and blaming that same disease?

Do you recall that one?

Or how about the Russian dossier being made by political operatives and being full of shite?

Do you remember that one?

Or how about Biden withholding funds from Ukraine unless the AG investigating him in Ukraine is fired because the Biden family were on the take in Ukraine?

Do you remember that one?

Or how about there one where there were plants from the FBI in pushing people in the Gretchen kidnapping case?

Do you remember that one?

I could go on, but you either are obtuse or a hard left operative if you dent each of these have proven out.

Go ahead and list them all. Then list your proof of them being correct.

There’s being skeptical and then there’s being irrational. It’s getting hard to hold any meaningful conversation since everything ends up deteriorating to these comments. I guess some people get weird as they get older and interact with society less.
It's funny that back when the internet was first getting it's wings, every parent on earth was screaming at us kids to never believe anything you see on it.

Now they believe everything they see on it and think we are the crazy ones taking their advice years ago

My parents are into some rabbit hole type shite too. Nothing too crazy, but they don't accept a lot of things at face value, which I definitely do not blame them.

My only worry is if they concern themselves too much with something to the point where they are frantic and worry about shite they have no control of. That is not healthy.

By my count, the conspiracy theories are like 90% accurate. The theorist are just 2 years ahead of accepted news.

The ones who don’t believe any of them are the morons.

I think the OP is failing to recognize the bigger elephant in the room. Conspiracy theories germinate through distrust of government or some other authority. There are unquestionably valid reasons to distrust the political landscape today and not all are conspiracy theories. The problem becomes that as people start questioning govt it opens the door for many people to be manipulated by sources that will tell them what they believe.

Don't blame your parents. Blame the media for not asking and reporting the obvious question your parents and others have and blame the media for not holding government accountable to transparency.

Your issue is misplaced on your parents.

The town in Maui has the same chief of police as Vegas during the massacre. Weird coincidence.

Your parents? Just humor them. If you like having a good relationship with them just humor them. If it gets to the point that you just can't take it anymore engage by asking leading questions and steer them toward realizing how insane they sound. Don't agrue...thats a big part of being a conspiracy nut is enjoying arguing.

Yeah. Vegas is sketchy for sure just because the impracticality of how the shooting took place.

Maybe they shipped him to Hawaii for "retirement" after he helped them hide the vegas shooting. Or maybe he wasn't involved with the vegas shooting stuff at all and said 'ill move to Hawaii and have a peaceful job compared to vegas" and this shite happens

I think the big part of being a conspiracy theorist is seeing your government blatantly lie to you to the point that no scenario seems implausible. You’ll believe anything once you realize your government is capable of lying about anything and everything.

Old people and the internet are a dangerous combination

My 84 year old Dad lives with us. He worked in the construction industry his whole career and spends a lot of time reading articles on the internet and watching youtube videos related to building codes. I know, that is indicative of some serious mental issues LOL but its what he did for a living and is still interested in. At least a couple of days a week when I get home he is furious about something he has seen that wasn't the way it was when he was working...for instance I said something to my wife about a piece of property we were looking at and I wasn't sure if we could put a septic tank in the front set back. He hits me the next day with "You can put a septic tank in the front yard...I watched a youtube video about it". I ask him what county and he says "Georgia" and I mention that it would up to the authority having jurisdiction, in this case the county the property is located in, and he says "its legal in Georgia...I saw it on Youtube" and of course, in a momentary lack of consciousness on my part I ask "what county" and he GOES off saying it didn't matter the state said it was OK and he saw it on YouTube. Got so mad he was shaking and had to go to bed early LOL. Old folks and the internet are a BAD combination.

If they were silenced how were they on social media. Opps, I did it again, I engaged.

See, thats what you don't want to do LOL. Just humor them. We don't make fun of people will physical illnesses we should avoid doing so with the mentally ill...
