Single co-worker just added his 16 year old son to his insurance. He was complaining because his insurance cost tripled.

I live in MS and our insurance more than doubled, so somewhere around $325 a month.

We buying a car for the kid and I don’t know how we could pull that off.
Initial estimate from State Farm is over $500 a month on a low end vehicle. I’m in shock. LOL

Not true across the board. That was the max, not everyone’s went up 17%

Don't add them as a driver until you're forced.

17 year old son......cost us $375 per month to add him 2 months ago. I was in sticker shock when the agent told me.

It's fricking legalized theft. Insurance payment is damn near the same as his car note. I'm sure lots of people are on the verge of just not paying.

16 year old girl - runs us 488 a month.

350
Now? Not so much...

As a part time driver I'm about to start paying 1700 per year for him.
My 20 yr old daughter(not a fricking chance) costs 3700 per year with her own car but restricted mileage.

Oh and I will add that the child has to be rated on every car you own, whether or not they will drive it doesn't matter.

And submit good grades report card/transcript if you have SF. The discount is worth it.
