It’s a particular insidious accusation within relationships, especially when it’s hurled at someone who is defending themselves. e.g.:

“You do/don’t do this thing I hate/want you to do”
“No I don’t/yes I do”
“Stop trying to gaslight me!”

Unless, you know, the person is actually trying to gaslight them

It’s like being on the back of a pissed off bucking bull. Seriously, I’ll never go through that hell again.

That description he gave that I quoted was dead nuts accurate.

Yes, it's a tactic that was highlighted in a 40s movie that the Left/Progs and allies of the New World Order are using today to question your sanity.

I know someone that forces you into believing what he says now is what he said earlier even though that wasn’t what he said exactly. And you can’t argue with him as he always believes he has the upper hand.

I won’t say anything negative about her. She’s still a great mother and I hope she will always be.

I think she is a good person and while I don’t agree with her decisions and how she handled “us,” that is her choice and life to do as she pleases.

My main focus is my children. She exited and never looked back. Not even a real discussion. But I’m not surprised either. My counselor called this from the very beginning.

The tranny on 90 day said boyfriend who was unsure about telling producers he sucked a tranny dick was gaslighting her. I didn't get it.

Sounds like you got gaslighted.

J/k. Sorry about everything you went thru but it sounds like you have your priorities in check.

FWIW, with a moderately stable woman the term may be helpful if used by saying something like: “I don’t think you’re intentionally trying to gaslight me, but when you say/do “X” it makes me feel that way because it’s not supported by our actual experiences.”

It's an overused term used by women when they are wrong about something. If anything, women gaslight the most.

The term originated from an old play where a husband convinced his wife that she was crazy by continuing to change the intensity of their gas lamps when she wasn't looking.

I aspire to one day gaslight people any time they come over in the evening, but alas I’m still all electric for now

You would need a 24” -30” peewee to take full advantage.

The problem with that is when you are taking a shite, you would be dangling in the bowl.
