Have had some painful bursitis in my hip all week. Icing helps. Doc gave me some Meloxicam 15mg.

I know studies have shown dosages above 23mg can cause problems but I dunno if that is extended use .

Anybody ever doubled up for a single day on anti-inflammatory ? Any problem?

Read your package insert or look it up online.

I used Meloxicam for a bad back and got some relief but stopped taking it when I read that extended used could be harmful to liver, stomach, kidney or some vital organ prefer to keep. I think taking for a few days would be ok but it does take a day or too to start working.

As an IT professional all I can say is, what's the worst that could happen?

15mg once daily for 14 days will do the trick.

If you’re having trochanteric bursitis then you should have gotten a steroid shot right in the bursa.

Apply Ice, take 15mg meloxicam per day, apply voltaren gel 2-3x per day, stay moving and it should improve within 2 weeks. If that fails then you can get a steroid injection into the bursa.

You probably want to make sure it doesn’t interact with your Valtrex.

Tried it any really didn't help at all. Plus I've heard extended use causes baldness.

I thinks it's garbage. Seemed to help my lower back pain at first, then just seemed ineffective.

My back would still kill me most mornings.

Saw something late last year about how nsaids can actually make chronic arthritis /joint pain worse.

Qiut taking it, and immediately my lower back seemed to loosen up, I was much more limber, and could handle standing in one spot for more than five minutes without fidgeting in discomfort.

Won't ever take it again.
