I don't work, so I have the ability to load up my stuff in one of my trucks, load up my bulldog and drive.

I refuse to fly domestic anymore. It's more enjoyable for me to drive and not have to deal with the bullshite of airports, airlines and the tards.

Im not an airline pilot, only private, but most of the time they taxi with only one engine. They will start up the second engine once they are close to taking off, and will shut one down soon after landing/getting off the runway. APU isnt strong enough to propel the plane by itself, only to run the generator for power in the plane.

Happened to me in Nashville in the summer. Two hours on the tarmac, no ac, in the last seat on a full plane. People were getting pissed.

2) Flight attendants begin getting paid. Most airlines don’t pay the FAs until the door closes.

I've never understood this

I don't ask or expect much from the FAs but why are they not paid until door closes, can only imagine how much money they lose

This is why Driving > Flying. Flying is AWFUL right now.

I have a heat allergy. I’d have to cause a scene to get off the plane. I don’t like flying during the summer due to that

Actually the opposite, flying is too cheap allowing too many people, especially fat people, to fly.

Pilots don’t get paid until the door is closed and the parking brake is released, although the pay differential between the two is substantial.

We need more competition. Which means we need more gates at the major airports built and reserved for airlines that aren’t currently operating a fortress hub at that location.

Airlines are profoundly bad at providing a reasonably decent customer experience.

You shouldn't be able to fly across the country for $200 and expect a great experience

I reject this way of thinking. Seems like a negative view of things and the potential for better. How about we analyze the barriers to competition that create regional monopolies in the industry?

As an aside, I’ve had 6 flights this week and 5 of them were delayed by at least an hour.

I don’t know how this doesn’t happen on a regular basis at CLT. You are lucky if you’re sitting on the tarmac for less than an hour after pulling back from the gate there, every time. They’re terrible.
