Not needed….you can’t fill the seating for every home game we have now. Why exactly would we make the issue worse ?
Now if you ant go talk about redesign to make it more fan friendly then there is a discussion. No update needs to be discussed unless it doesn’t involve and total redo of the restroom facilities starting with the north and south end zones. Those things are just a small step above restrooms found in Turkish prisons. You listening LSU facilities management ???

Decrease capacity by putting in wider seats with chair backs.

totally agree with the above, take some bleachers out, put chair back and decrease seat capacity that makes sense.

The atmosphere at LSU games was much better before they added the original west side upper deck in the 1970's. I think the capacity before then was just shy of 65K.

The original 'Old Bowl' configuration was just such a wonderfully elegant structure, even with the two decked South Endzone last addition.

they don't need chair backs everywhere. Just adding one solid back to the shitty bleacher seats would be more than enough.
And no they aren't going to expand the north.
They need to take the entire east upper deck down and redo it. and i say the east b/c no one wants to sit up there at 230 in August and September. Add a bunch more stadium club type seating, then put a giant standing room only at the top with TV's everywhere and plenty of good food and drinks and make it basically a bar.

It won’t ever happen. The college stadium capacity arms race is finished. Aside from 1 or maybe 2 games a year most schools are having issues fully selling out their current stadiums
Exactly. I can sit at home and have a better experience at this point. Fan experience will be the new thing to get behind

Not saying it’s needed, but Tiger stadium last season was filled to 98.3% capacity on average. Only 3 other SEC schools did better by percentage. UGA, but they only hold 92k. Ky, but they too only hold 61K and Fla with a capacity of 88.5K.
We broke 100K in 5 of the 7 home games.

It'll never be ready in time!

Not a NEZ upper deck per se', but additional box suites that would be placed above the NEZ 'arches', but not interfere with the highest NEZ current seating.
They would have to have some type of support structure though, which could be problematic.
And actually, most of the home games last year were filled almost to capacity.

Need? Maybe not but why not put more comfortable seating, it would improve the fan experience, that's what is needed more than any expansions these days.
Make it comfortable and a better experience for the fan, right now for many its not worth it to go to a game when you can have all the comforts at home.

I was at every home game last year and it was not 98% filled on average. I think what you may be referring to is tickets sold. Big difference. Look the stadium is old and needs upgrades to be more fan friendly not bigger. Spend the cash where it is needed …restrooms, internet access, continual upgrades to concessions and redesign of seating if even possible. Seating was designed in the lower stadium bowl in the 1920/30’s when probably the average man weighed 150lbs at most. I would honestly like to know what that average is now. It has to be a assload larger these days. Yeah pun intended.
Anyway there are much better ways to spend LSU’s limited funds for upgrades to athletic facilities. PMAC needs cash spent on it as does the baseball stadium. I am sure other sports are pushing for their needed upgrades as well. Expansion of tiger stadium will not occur in any of our lifetimes or our grandchildren’s lifetimes.

The trend now is to improve the experience in order to compete with big screens and comfy couches. Expansion would just show that leadership is out of touch.

No to expansion... should be reconfigured... TV, among other factors, has led to decreased attendance, and there is no need for a capacity of over 100,000!

I agree with tickets sold being the on point, but that’s the same with every college. How close was the numbers for the Alabama game? The capacity is 102,321 they list the numbers as 102,321, sold out crowd. It was a packed house.
I do agree with more money being spent within the Athletic Department. The previous AD’s rode the facilities as far as they could. We’ve had a change at the leadership post. First you get the coaches, win, then things move so much more smoothly.
Remember when the short guy came in ? Who was main guy Mark Emmert, who was hired by Mark?
“ In 2000, Woodward was hired by LSU Chancellor Mark Emmert to serve as the Director of External Affairs at Louisiana State University. The position entailed being a liaison between LSU and government and corporate officials and acting as an advisor to Chancellor Emmert on policy and government appropriations. At LSU, Woodward also served as the Chancellor's Representative to the Athletic Department.”
Who’s back at LSU?
The folks around the Nation thought we were crazy to pay a HC that amount, where are we now?
Woody has locked in on the coaches he’s wanted, got them.
I only see better for Tiger Athletics, you?

Also, they could put in chair backs but the fats on here don’t like that idea.
Well the fats who go to Alex Box sure seem obsessed with having chairs over bleachers.

Guess I need to put on a little more weight, if I’m going to continue going to the Box?

The stadium needs a cosmetic overhaul, not an expansion. There are too many dead spaces in the building not being utilized.
