If this is the case he was likely the victim of a pickpocket which would explain the phone situation.

Thx for the updated post. Glad he is safe and prayers answered. Your brother is very lucky to be alive as he would have been an easy target for criminal predators.

So your brother has been astute financially and decided to go spend a few days in New Orleans. He got some decent lodging, bought some new kicks, got drunk on bourbon street and either dropped his phone or had it swiped by a hood rat. Sounds like America to me.

Right. A caring brother whose most recent picture of his missing (3 days at nice hotels in NO, when his mom and daughter had left on trips) brother was a mug shot from 10 years ago. And a fiend with a savings account. I'm going to hold out on swallowing the whole hook.
