Better Call Saul - Mike hiding in the back of the chicken truck ambushing the Salamanca crew that was stealing from them. They knicked his ear, but in the end he ganked 'em good.

That’s what instantly came to my mind. Surprised it took this long to get a mention.

VC ambush of PBR on the river into the heart of darkness in Apocalypse Now.

I don't know if this counts as an ambush, but when Jack Burton drives his truck down the alley in China Town and all hell breaks loose between the two gangs, and the Three Storms show up, and Lopan has light coming out of his mouth, that's a pretty good scene.

Wind River. You knew something bad was coming but the way it unfolded was incredible. The one character who realized they were being flanked before the viewers did. What a scene.

That movie made me second guess taking a canoe trip down an isolated river in the deep south.

Same. As soon as I read the title of the post, Red Dawn and the scene from American Ninja when the ninjas ambushed the American convoy.

The end shootout in the motel in L.A. Confidential.
Lancelot at Swamp Castle in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
The end fight in Blazing Saddles.

Not certain if this could be considered an ambush scene or not but that scene from the 1982 version of Poltergeist where that clown drags that kid under the bed still bothers me 40 years later.

I have heard government agencies used that scene in training.

Beginning of The Wild Bunch Waiting on the rooftops outside the bank (on YouTube)
It wasn't a very good plan because most of Pike's crew got away.
This made it worse: The Wild Bunch (4/10) Movie CLIP - Washers (on YouTube
----------------------------------------
In The Departed (2006), the murder of Billy Costigan when the elevator door opened was a one man ambush.
So was the murder of Colin Sullivan by Dignam.

Another "One Man" ambush?
