The Big 12 Conference officially added four teams Saturday as the calendar turned to July 1.

Houston, Cincinnati, BYU and UCF join the conference nearly two years after Big 12 presidents voted to expand the league.

The Big 12 is preparing to play the upcoming season with 14 teams before Texas and Oklahoma depart for the SEC in 2024.

Yormark said Thursday he would ideally like to keep the conference at 14 teams but would be OK with 12.

Props to the Big 12 for not only saving their conference but ending up in a better position than the PAC. When Texas and Oklahoma announced they were leaving, some figured the Big 12 was done and schools like Texas Tech, OK State, TCU, Baylor, etc. would be picked off by the Pac 12 or others.

The Big 12 was proactive and it's paid off for them. They'll never be the SEC but they've come through this better than most predicted.

Tulane
would love. We could a home and home and it would count towards that SEC rule playing one power 5 .

If they are trying to add 2 more teams then Memphis would immediately make the most sense with connections to Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF. Along with being another pretty high profile program.

And then 1 of Tulane, Arizona, USF

If they added all 4 of those teams then they are cookin with something

UCF is gonna run this entire conference in 12 years. Not a homer. Just a realist with a huge dick

The Big 12 is officially the best basketball conference in the country, and strengthened their position while getting rid of the school that contributed to all their previous drama in Texas

Yep. And, I'm probably the 15,000th person to say this, but it's gonna be a great conference for the secondary sports. Basketball will be really good, and baseball will be ok.

Then grabbed Arizona, Arizona State, and Colorado.
