Yep. I have seen it first hand. I was supposed to go on a mission trip in August, but unfortunately, I will be out of commission then (in the hospital again, awesome). I plan on going to Africa next year. Can't wait.

I suspect the commercials got too expensive for them. Too much money for the amount of funds they raised. I also know that many organizations have thrown up their hands in response to corrupt governments coopting most or even all of their shipments.
I am connected with people who run an orphanage in Guatemala, when materials are sent to them, there is an expectation that entire cargo vans may be coopted by the government or people connected with the government.

Anyone's parents used to try to guilt them into eating their food by saying there are poor starving kids in Africa who would give anything to be able to eat the food on your plate?
Between that and the commercials they used to show, I used to think that every part of Africa was filled with starving kids who didn't have any houses to live in.
In fact, that's how I figured out Santa wasn't real. Because if Santa was the good man he was supposed to be he would have brought all those poor kids food for Christmas.
