Jobert deserves to stay. He crushed game 1 and had several smoked balls against Wake, including a HR that the wind killed.

While I agree that that is his position, his fielding % is 1 point higher than Jones. And that's with him playing a not insignificant amount of time in LF

That's not a good indication of who is better defensively. If, let's say, Thompson throws one in the dirt and Jones doesn't pick it, it's an error on Thompson. But if Morgan picks it, it's an out. Morgan can do things that Jones can't do. And that won't be reflected in fielding percentage.

I like Jones but no reason to bring him with this wind.

I think the wind negates Travinski's impact as well and makes Milazzo more valuable.

No, he didn’t. This is the CWS. This is not going to be some slugfest and You can not afford defensive mistakes. You have to be able to win the low scoring games at this stage which means your best defensive guys need to be on the field. Jones is not there yet. Kid will be great for us in the future but now is not the time for experimenting.

Counting that one, there's only been 2 homers in the last 5 games in Omaha.

Straight away left, wind blowing in, would have cleared the bullpen

Travinski has been just as much of an auto out in Omaha and has been terrible behind the plate.

Not if Travinski is healthy. Which I’m skeptical of after he didn’t pinch hit for Millazo yesterday in a 2-0’game with the bases loaded in the 8th. Trav is a terrible catcher, no doubt, but I don’t think you can justify taking his or Beloso’s bat out of the lineup at this point if Hayden’s healthy. Even if he’s not hitting like he was, just the threat of him makes the lineup better when he’s in there.

And there’s zero chance you take out Jobert against a RHP right now. That’s retarded. He’s barreled up more balls than anybody so far except maybe Tre.

In 2 games against the best pitching in the country. Small sample size. And again, just his presence in the lineup extends it and adds value. But only if he’s healthy.

No argument there. I think we beat Wake Monday if Milazzo had started. But that’s hindsight, there was no way to predict that and no way to justify it at that point. But if Trav is even slightly not right physically, you’ve got to go with Millazo.

Maybe. But Travinski’s strong enough to get through the wind as long as it’s not to dead center. And he hits piss rods, not towering bombs that will die at the track. It’s a big park with lots of room in the alleys, the wind may turn his home runs into doubles.

But like I said, if he’s not right physically, that makes Millazo a no brainer.
