Thanks baws, not sure how deep the pitching rotation is for the Decons

Yes, but they have the best starting rotation in the country.

Yea. After a rough 30 pitch first inning he got out of there with only 1 run and I think they pulled him at 100 pitches in the 6th. Could be wrong.
Was hoping he’d be pulled earlier and they’d have to use more arms but he threw really well after the first inning.

Deep...most likely they will throw sophmore lefty Josh Hartle 11-1 on the season with a 2.28 ERA and 131 strikeouts...

Yes, but their second Ace will pitch Monday

Wake has 3/4 “Aces” on staff so it doesn’t matter who they threw Saturday their starting pitcher bs LSU Monday will be legit.
LSU will blister their “Ace” or whoever they decide to throw Monday cause LSUs winning the SHIP baby!!!!

131 Ks* to only 20 walks in 96.1 innings is a very impressive stat line.

They’ve got an outstanding staff. Anyone we play at this point is really good.
If LSU is playing their game, I’ll take our chances

So he throws a lot of strikes... as Morgan freeman would say, good luck
Hope we light him up

WF has 4 top notch pitchers: (#ncaa)
Lowder 15-0 / 108 IP / 137 SO(#5) / 1.99 ERA(#5)
Hartle 11-2 / 96.1 IP / 131 SO(#6) / 2.80 ERA(#31)
Keener 8-1-1 / 66 IP / 90 SO(#37) / 2.18 ERA(#10)
Sullivan 5-3-3 / 66 IP / 108 SO(#16) / 2.59 ERA(#22)
Roland 2-1-2 / 29.2 IP / 52 SO / 2.12 ERA
Massey 3-0-1 / 38.1 IP / 71 SO / 2.58 ERA
Mascolo 7-1 / 50.0 IP / 44 SO / 3.96 ERA
Minacci [Closer] 0-1-13 / 30.2 IP / 44 SO / 2.64 ERA
WF Team ERA 2.84 (#1) / SO 738 (#1) / Runs 207 (#1)
As a comparison Tenn. is (#2) ERA 3.62 / (#2) SO 716 / (#3) Runs 258
Wake has a very tough staff from top to bottom but they are beatable. They pitched Lowder (5.1), Sullivan (1.1), Keener (1.1), and Minacci (1.0) on Friday against Stanford. We'll most likely face Hartle who went 6.0 IP w/ 11 SO against Bama in the second game of the Super, and a combination of Roland, Massey or Mascolo. Our 1 through 9 will need to show up, stay hot, and produce runs on Monday.

Hopefully we get rain delay after 3rd or 4th and burn their #2. Favors us greatly going to a by committee approach IMO.

So you’re in favor of burning Floyd in that situation? That situation would favor Wake big time.

Their 4th guy struck out 108 in 66 wtf

Hartle is the best high school player to ever sign with Wake Forest.

This is the one game that losing Shores/Edwards/Taylor could really hurt us, but if the bats stay live and our pen keeps up the pace of the last month, I still like our chances.

I see the low ERA for the whole staff, but in anyone's opinion, could some of that great pitching be due to the fact they don't play against SEC caliber teams every weekend? Doesn't discount the fact they are good, but will they be any harder to hit than anyone else we have seen all year.

Huge question is how their offense will perform. Been hot but they weren’t very special against Stanford, who has the worst team ERA in the College World Series. Plus they didn’t pitch their best guy.
