Louis CK - have never laughed once
Louis CK is on my Mount Rushmore of comedians. Both his standup and Louie and Lucky Louie are phenomenal. Horace and Pete is pretty great too.

I like Nikki Glaser & Iliza Shelisger's stand-up!

I saw Stavros a couple of months ago, and he most definitely does NOT "rely on crowd work nonstop to fill up time". He doesn't do any more or less crowd work than pretty much any other comedian I've seen. He puts out alot of crowd work clips on YouTube because it's fresh content he can post without having to burn any of his regular material...

Those crowd work clips are like cat nip for the algorithms so you have a few guys like that who go viral all the time for that, but don’t only do that but it’s easy to get that impression
Mark Normand for example was cited earlier as a guy who doesn’t do a lot of crowd work but the clips I’ve seen come into my feed of him are almost exclusively crowd work stuff or “yells at a heckler” type content. The regular bits don’t tend to go as super viral

Most of the redneck group got old quick. Laughed a few times here and there, but the whole you might be a redneck and getter done died quicker than Pauly Shore's career. Pauly is single-handedly the worst stand up I ever saw...which is why no one remembers Pauly ever doing stand up lol.
Carlin is one of the all time greats with incredible longevity, but the last 10ish years of his career was bitter lib garbage. He used to roast everyone until he became another angry lefty loon and the genuine humor was sucked into the void.

I never understood Carlin as genuine comedy. Just social commentary. He never played in both sandboxes IMO.
I think the great ones do both and you never know what to expect.
Norm, Chappelle, Pryor, etc.

I have never found anything Bo Burnham has done even remotely funny. He has a lot of musical talent and he has some interesting and clever ideas but I don't find it the least bit funny.

Burnham is interesting in pieces. I honestly hate musical comedy. Just not interested in it.
Andrew Dice Clay was also never my thing. I don't like people who cuss for shock factor.
Sam Kinison was the worst about that. Yelling and cussing.

Fluffy. He has some moments but most of it is just self shaming fat jokes. I like Kreischer talking about his kids but I love his podcast with Segura.
Segura's bit about Steven Segal is one of my favorites.
Any comedian that can make something stick for as long as Chapelle did should not be mentioned in this thread. We still quote the skit show all the time and his stand up was always great, imo

Agree with Akwafina.
Mrs. Pat is a "fat black woman" and is hilarious.

Katt Williams.
Take the N word and F word out of his act and it cuts it in half (at least).

I have tried to like John Mulaney, Tom Segura, and Anthony Jeselnik but they just don't do anything for me.

I love Richard Pryor, but I'll say that the bulk of his work isn't anything noteworthy. He's definitely a "greatest hits" type of comedian.
Also, Joe Rogan's stand up isn't really funny

My subscription page has several new short clips a day it seems, so I think many other comedians are starting to embrace that strategy too. Dave Attell would have a lifetime of killer crowd work clips to post, if only he gave more of a shite about the business end of his profession

Saw him last year at L'auberge. He fricking murdered.

I can't believe this thread has went this long. James Corden is another one for my list.

Hell yeah, glad you enjoyed. Saw him last July, and I never laughed more at a show. His new material is as strong as anything he's done IMO. I heard him say he's planning to put out a special soon...thank God, it's been too long since his last special!

Unless I missed it, I'm more surprised no one's mentioned Hannah Gadsby...
