If anyone but Trump is the GOP nominee, the election is about Biden and his failings.
If Trump is the nominee, the election will be about Trump (who has an approval rating of net -30). Every single day the focus will be on the indictments and the 2020 election.
Further, every downballot GOP will be asked daily "Do you support Donald Trump?" "Do you believe the 2020 election was stolen?" and the GOP will be crushed.
