Yes, your post where you actually considered some of my points shows you don't actually think they are retarded. You're going to die on that hill though because you don't like me as a poster an think I'm a simpleton.
I love that yall downvote shite like this. Simple minds doing simple things.

I mean sure. But that doesnt mean they cant afford it. It's also highly possible their spending habits and priorities are the root cause. Not the actual lack of funds.

Now what I wish would be happening to go along with this is having serious teaching moments with those kids about how not to end up like mom and dad but im sure that would probably be racist or some shite in todays world.

I'm never going to apologize for calling bullshite on 40% of all women needing taxpayers to give them tampons. That is the claim in this thread.

I don't think anything should be free. People should work for their shite. Kids can't afford it, get a job. I've worked since I was 13.
This is how you get people dependent upon the government.

Serious question. Google says most school nurses offices already have some tampons available. Just not enough to hand them out regularly to everyone. Does that seem true in your opinion?

Im not a hundred percent sure honestly. I know in the past I've been given products at the start of the year and that seems to have stopped. I dont really interact with our schools nurse much to know for sure. I wouldnt be surprsied if she did though.
(Just to play devils advocate some) A lot of girls would rather do nothing than have to talk with another adult about it, including just simply asking for a tampon/pad. So having it be somewhere readily accessible does make it easier to handle in that regard. Now that definitely should be used as a teaching moment to speak up for yourself in the correct way but yea.

I'm not against this, per se. I am, however, sick and tired of people making up new terms (period poverty) to dramatize every possible social situation. I bet these girls aren't cell phone, weave, or nail impoverished.

What are their moms using, since most of their moms are pretty young too? Some birth control stops periods, but most do not.

Honestly don’t have an issue with this. A lot of school girls are not yet accustomed to dealing with that. They don’t always come prepared even if the parents give them what they need at home and have “the talk” with them. This can be there if it happens in school and they aren’t prepared.
Not to mention the girls with single dads…..

Why can’t their parents buy them tampons?

No surprise that it’s most of the far right on the house side that would be against this.

“Two in five women struggle to purchase period products due to lack of income,
Let's just be frank, for once.
Two in five parents don't give a crap about their kids enough to provide them with the basic resources they need.
So because two in five parents won't support their families, or have extended family that is willing to help... the rest of us, society, is expected to cover that cost for them.
There are three females in my household. Between tampons, pads, and Midol, we probably spend $30/month. So that's $10/month for this stuff.
Sometimes people fall behind or lose a job of something and need a little extra help for a moment. That's fine.
But we have two in five who refuse to provide...
Breakfast and lunch at school
School supplies
School uniforms
Medical Care
Etc
So because two in five won't give a crap enough to provide for their kids, the rest of us get to.
And what can we do? I'm not willing to punish a child, because the parent is a deadbeat.
Our system is broken. This is not sustainable.

Parents - if your daughter calls you from school asking you to bring one because she forgot, are you able to take off work to get it there? Would she have the courage to even ask?
I don’t have an issue with this. Just figure out how to keep this from being abused and make sure it’s there when it’s needed.
