It is my opinion that the album “Dirt”, by Alice in Chains, is the best rock album of the 90’s. Top to bottom, it is a classic album that I feel deserves this honor. It’s one of those albums you could leave in your car’s CD player for months, it was that good, all the songs are incredible.

Do you guys share my belief on this? If you don’t agree that this was the best rock album, which album is your pick?

This would be my pick...not a bad song on the album.

I stand by my assertion in 1995 that this is the best album of the 90s...

There were a bunch of good albums, as Clint has indicated in his post. But I do think Dirt is probably my favorite if I had to pick one.

Though music is often mood driven for me so picking a favorite is never really easy for me, particularly this far down the road from when I first heard it.

My pick would probably be Loveless or Perfect From Now.

But there are so many great 90s rock albums

Nevermind
Pinkerton
Lonesome Crowded West
OK Computer
Downward is Heavenward
Emergency and I
Spiderland

And that is just barely scratching the surface.

Absolutely love Dirt, but for me, I would say NOLA from Down or Far Beyond Driven.

Hard lean to NOLA

Limp Bizkit Significant Other (1999).

Hard to beat the back to back to back songs of Nookie, Break Stuff, and Reaarange. Man those are some all time greats!
