The underlying word that describes everything which plagues the world today, what is it?

I’m going with “Selfishness”. Name me something that is destroying society that is not self motivated at the heart of it.


Conversely, I am convinced that if selfishness did not run this world, you would not have such a terrible world, but it is truly selfishness that drives all of man’s garbage, not withstanding that which man cannot control of course.

Murder
Abortion
Eugenics
Rape
Hatred
Theft
Greed
Jealousy
Corruption
War
Abuse of power
Littering
Graffiti
Dangerous drivers
Road rage
Slavery
Subjugating peoples
Substance abuse
Child abuse
Laziness
Broken families
Single parent homes


This list goes on forever and it’s still the same motivator

It is a calloused disconnect to anyone and everyone that isn’t “ME” and what I get out of it. I don’t think we could ever truly rid ourselves of this self motivated attribute in man, but I will say that it really really concerns me when generations are arising and are here where SELF and an absolute obsession with everything self has never been more important in time than right now. That path leads to a very dangerous and calloused future for this country, especially when principles are so easily discounted and discarded, and morality in general so relative, ever being reinvented, and never for the betterment of mankind.

I think it dates back to the very first selfish act by Adam and Eve who were motivated by what they would get out of eating of the forbidden fruit. It’s always SELF that is the real corrupter in this world.
