I think Levis will be awesome in an NFL system.

Why would they trade up for Levi's?

I can see it because the NFL likes to keep good college players regional.

Lexington is only 400 miles away from Charlotte.

Then Young can go to Houston and Stroud can go to Indianapolis.

Some of the biggest knocks on him are his pre-snap reads, throwing against zone defense, timing, footwork, reaction time, etc. That's not something that is going to be easier in an NFL system. He certainly has tools for days to be great, but fixing issues that are between the ears isn't always easy.

As many have said about this draft, it seems to be GMs going for broke trying to find the next Josh Allen. Far more times than not, those type of reaches don't work out. It would be a huge red flag for me that Levis started 26 games in his college career and only had 5 300 yard passing games, only one of those coming against a P5 team: Tennessee in 2021 who had the 122nd ranked pass defense nationally. His numbers against average to good defenses were pretty pedestrian, certainly not numbers that screamed 1st overall pick in the draft

Something else I came across that I found interesting. For someone with such a huge arm, it stood out that almost 25% of his passes thrown last year were behind the LOS.

Adding to his issues, he's going to be going to a terrible team if he goes #1 overall. He would probably be served much better learning for a couple years than being thrown into the fire expected to carry a shitty team when he has his own issues to work through.

I wouldn't say that Panthers are necessarily terrible.

Aside from this already being a stupid reason to pick a franchise quarterback, Tuscaloosa, Lexington, and Columbus Ohio are all about the same distance from Charlotte…so there goes that.

Might as well take Hendon Hooker since he’s from NC. Or wait till next year for Drake Maye since he’s from Charlotte.

He looked like quarterback god in shorts for a few minutes at the combine plus he's got great hair.

Any SEC fan that watched this year should be able to tell that Richardson and Levis don’t pass the eye test in terms of in game play.

Both have great physical tools but they are definitely project types that need the right system.

As a Saints fan I really hope they do this. Levi’s may turn out to be an MVP one day but it’s more likely he is the next Zach Wilson.
