Various cities in Switzerland, the UAE, and Singapore.

East Berlin, before the wall came down. No crowds, no trash, no bothersome choices in stores, and for that matter, no choices in the restaurants.

Salt Lake City is up there for me.
I would believe this in 1975 when it was all Mormon, but now they have a lot of hippies, hobos, and tech jobs.

Small town Maine. Outside Portland (and Portland isn’t bad).

Country: New Zealand (before Covid).
Here in the US: Boston. City was very clean and we always felt safe walking around, even at night. People were also very friendly.

Thought about this for a while and cannot decide on a country. I have been to some pretty controlled places like company headquarters, military bases, certain research facilities.
As for place I have been to that was earilycontrolled was
Lenins Tomb
It is on red square. Big kind of gray square building. You walk in and never are allowed to stop moving. There are military dressed guards that are positioned throughout. Walk right up to the body and then keep going and walk out.
