Do you not realize what he’s done since coming here? Not just good hires, but hires I would never have fathomed 25 years ago.

Pulled Kelly from one of the most prestigious schools in the country. I hate Notre Dame and they suck at football, but he’s not from Southern Miss, Okie State or down there on the Bayou. Year one and in the SEC Championship game. Come on.

Mulkey - given she’s from Louisiana, but pulling her from Baylor where she could have just glided into retirement and was on a pedestal there. Second year here and in the final four? Come on.

Johnson - another solid hire. And again, lured away from a fairly good program at Arizona. Not some podunk school in North La. Recruits some of the best players out there, 21-3 in year two thus far and just pounded the #3 team in the country. Come on.

McMahon - yes while it doesn’t look great at this point it was like selling a job to come and be a water sewer treatment plant supervisor (more like taste tester). Let’s see how it pans out in year two.

As someone who’s followed LSU for 35 years, you moaners and groaners need to realize where we are right now. This could be the decade of all decades forthcoming. Stop bitching and enjoy it.

they were #5 and Friday wasnt a massacre. It was 1-1 going into extras. The final score wasn't indicative of how the game went. Now, games 2 and 3, THOSE were massacres.

I see no lies, it’s amazing he even got a mens BB coach to come here after the shite show Wade left behind. He literally had one player and even he wasn’t a sure thing at first.

People who bash SW fall squarely into the troglodyte category. The overall body of his work while at LSU is stellar, and only the Chads from Sulphur to Port Sulphur are dumb enough to think and broadcast otherwise.

It's almost like a "coordinated effort" on there, isn't it?

Hmmmm

I’ve always acknowledged that he’s made really good hires in every other sport. But historically, Woodward has struggled in men’s basketball.

The decision to fire Wade the way he did - leaving the team hanging days before the NCAA tournament - and then replaced him with a mid major coach was a poor decision. When he arrived on campus only one of the major sports was in good hands and consistently out performing the historical trend for that sport.

At the end of the day, he didn’t care for Wade and wanted his guy. Well, he’s got his guy, and much like his other basketball hires or decisions as an AD, it doesn’t appear to be successful.

Just because he’s made good hires in other sports does not give him immunity for the screw up with the basketball program.

You can admit that woody made a bunch of good hires while also admitting woody made a bad hire.

Scott is Skinny Woody when it comes to football, baseball, WBB, and softball. But he is Fat Woody when it comes to basketball.

I agree, but the conversation is exhausting. That horse is long dead.

I guess someone has to dominate the sports no one watches. How is women’s golf doing?

It’s possible to give him credit for good hires and call him out for what this men’s basketball program has turned into.

I give a pass to Woodward on McMahon, but that's because I think that was all he could get. Stabbing Wade in the back is one half, but the other is telling a new coach "Hey, welcome. You might get a year of recruiting and then we're gonna get smacked with a recruiting violation. And oh yea, we expect you to get into the tournament every year after your first too."

Most coaches are gonna walk from that, never mind the player exodus that followed.

Jabba the AD is really good at throwing money around. Gave O the dumbest extension possible with a full buyout. Hired Kelly and pulled him away from ND. (Amazing Job). Fired/Let Vargas find another job and had Kim lined up. (Extenuating circumstances at Baylor helped this come together). Paul needed to retire and Woody helped that transition and seems to have done a great job so far.

It’s how’s he handled Men’s basketball that has been a complete failure on his part. Basically, giving the program the death penalty in order to have his guy as a coach. He either didn’t get his guy he thought he could get and settled or this was his guy (that to me is very concerning). Next basketball hire based on Woodys track record needs to be perform by someone else in the Athletic Department.

Hired 3 coaches that could all win a national championship for LSU in the second year of being here, which is unfathomable for football and WBB considering where they were when the coaches took over. The baseball team was in much better shape, and I'd say that winning a natty is pretty much expected.
