FDA to review common over-the-counter cold meds due to concerns they're useless.

Here they go again, taking meds that are effective and either altering them to make them useless or depriving patients the ability to procure them. They did that with Tylenol Sinus, making it completely ineffective now, they are severely curtaining the use of antibiotics even in cases when they're needed (ie. bronchitis), etc.

I can't think of anyone in our family or circle of friends who hasn't used Benadryl or Sudafed at one time or another. Benadryl is also useful for allergies and is also used during chemo treatments as a way to prevent adverse reactions.

Stock up now before the government takes away your ability to treat your symptoms.

I need government to take care of me, since I’m too daft to do my own research and make decisions that are in the best interest of myself/my family.

Stay in your lane, fedgov.

It'll be found out soon that Benadryl and Sudafed are cures for whatever shite they plan on releasing on us next.

Sudafed will clear your sinuses up in 15 minutes. Can also be used to make high quality meth so "useless" is subjective.

Covid vax made money. A lot of money. Pharmaceuticals don’t hinge on effectiveness, it’s the bottom dollar.

Most generic “older” medications work better than the new stuff they try to make a Buck on.

Sudafed was great drunk street pharma when you wanted a bump at 2a and there wasn't any nose candy.

If they’re useless then what’s the problem? There’s all kinds of useless shite in drug stores.

That would piss off a whole bunch of people who take benadryl as a sleep aid.

We are in cedar fever, literal pollen clouds. Someone took a pic of the ocean with the pollen. It is all over patio furniture, cars.

I tried to get Sudafed without tylenol and it was sold out. Now even the severe with the Tylenol/advil is sold out.

Regarding Benadryl. I can medically document two occasions that via pill form and IV with a cocktail of other drugs-- it literally saved my life in anaphylactic shock.

I got allergy shots and became no longer as allergic to things. But not one damned doctor told me that hormonal changes can cause allergies you usually don't have to come and go--Until an ENT MD told me when it was all over.

This is not what the authors are stating. Please re-read the article. Sudafed is going nowhere, neither is Benadryl.

Benadryl and Sudafed work well with either my cold or allergy symptoms.

This is a really weird flex by the FDA.

Getting ahead of the Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin this time. Smart move.

NyQuil Zzzzzs changed up their night-time med. It is now a antihistamine.

*diphenhydramine and alcohol and a controversial sugar syrup.

Another reason that Medicare For All and similar plans are among the dumbest ideas in the history of man.

People can't freaking read and comprehend....

This has nothing to do with Benedryl or Sudafed.

The compound under question is phenylephrine. Everyone knows phenylephrine is useless as a decongestant. That's why you reach for the behind-the-counter controlled versions containing pseudoephedrine or nothing at all.

Sudafed, gas stoves, benadryl, and eggs. Name 4 things that work too well and need to be banned in the name of science.

It's not regular benadryl that they are talking about. It's the formulation with phenylephrine in it. The anti-histamine in benadryl will remain available.
