On the SEC schedule format for football

Assume LSU permanent are A&M, Ole Miss, and Bama
How does the 6 rotation work:
LSU could have:
UGA
Fla
Texas
OU
and the above three every other year.
That would basically eliminate or make it very difficult to make the playoffs every other year if that's how it plays out.
On top of that if you did survive that than you would have to play a conf title game against 1 or 2

It would make 8-4 still a possibility to be in the Top12. I think it still takes Texas and OU 2-3 years to get up to SEC speed to play an entire schedule.

9-3 teams from the sec will get in.
Everyone will get 2 mulligans a year

Strength of conference schedule should be obvious. We can and will start beating bama consistently. After that, everything falls into place.

I honestly don't see OU being consistently good while in the SEC. Texas will start to keep more players in the State than in recent years but I don't see either of them being elite for a while in the SEC. At least from a Football perspective.

Who do you think we are, Alabama?

Really not a bad set up if you think about it if they go to 9 game SEC format. Every 4 year starter gets all teams/stadiums.
Using your listed groupings for reference only:
Year 1 & 2
Bama
Ole Miss
A&M
TX
OU
FL
UGA
Auburn
Years 3&4
Bama
Ole Miss
A&M
Vandy
Mizzou
MS St
USCe
KY
Arky

It won’t work like that.
If there are 8 top teams and 8 bottom then we have 2 top and 1 bottom fixed opponent, leaving 5 and 7, respectively
The other 6 games will be 3 & 3 1 year, 2 & 4 the next.

Alabama will close with Auburn.
Ole Miss will close with State.
Texas A&M will close with Texas. (I assume)
Maybe they move the Texas-Texas A&M up earlier in the season and leave LSU-A&M as the Finale.
Having Arkansas as one of the 3 Perms would solve the problem and return that game to the Finale. (Just play it Saturday NIGHT and NOT Friday afternoon)

What does it matter who we close the season with? Why does it have to be one of the permanent opponents?

Most likely rotating between Oklahoma and Arkansas. There’s no requirement that they play the same team in the final game every year.

That means you can be 5-4 in conference and get in. I'd rather see the best mid majors get in than that

You’re such a fricking moron. Stay on the MSB

The really need to simply do two divisions, divided by the AL/MS line.
Trying to use anything other than geography will not stand the test of time.
Four pods/groups of annual opponents should be:
Mizzou, OU, TAM, UT
Ark, Ole, MSST, LSU
Vandy, Tenn, AL, Aub
UK, UGA, SoCar, Fla
Or the two divisions:
West:
Mizzou, OU, TAM, UT
Ark, Ole, MSST, LSU
East:
Vandy, Tenn, AL, Aub
UK, UGA, SoCar, Fla
We would play on a rotating schedule 2 of the 8 teams from east every year for a total of 9 SEC games.

I’m pretty sure the SECCG will be nixed once this comes to fruition.
Posted on 3/6/23 at 4:55 pm to St Jean The Baptiste
SECCG makes big $$$ and ESPN/ABC is not gonna give up that game. And make no mistake about it: ESPN/ABC/Disney is running the SEC now. It's not Sankey nor is the Bama-Tenn-UGA cabal that's running the SEC.
