The "literally" epidemic

Can people form a paragraph without using this word? Even TD is eaten up with it, especially the PT board. I challenge you to read a page of a thread- any thread- without seeing it used (usually completely unnecessarily).
What are some overused words that set you off?

It's, literally, insane...

It's right up there with the "forever" trend, for me.
"Find your forever room, find your forever home!"
"Find your forever room, find your forever home!"

So literally it's just like a filler word okay?
Posted on 3/3/23 at 7:46 pm to ClientNumber9
It's as though people think you won't believe what they're saying unless they attach the word literally to it.

It's usually horrifically misused, but even as curmudgeonly as I am regarding the English language, I understand that when I see the word outside of an academic context, 99% of the time, it's simply indicating emphasis. Once you make it over that hurdle, you can just move on with life.
Literally.
Literally.

It was preceded by "for real" and is currently being followed by "no cap". Enjoy "literally" while it lasts

You're just mad that their fur babies both sleep through the night and don't talk back

The obsessive little teen girls that used to call into TRL every day to request Backstreet Boys or nsync now control a majority of middle class white spending and decision making
Do with that what you will
Do with that what you will

The Travel Board has literally dozens of threads without that word.

My husband literally gets upset when people overuse the word awesome. He does not believe everything can be awesome.
