Inclusivity shouldn’t just be present in the workplace — it should be practiced during the hiring process as well. But unfortunately, nonbinary job seekers are facing clear biases during their job search.

According to a new report from Business.com, a business resource platform, over 80% of nonbinary people believe that identifying as nonbinary would hurt their job search. Similarly, 51% believe their gender identity has affected their workplace experience “very or somewhat negatively.”

Ryan McGonagill, director of industry research at Business.com and author of the report, says these statistics show just how much work there is to do around diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace.

“We clearly have more work to do on several fronts. Over the past 10 years, DEIB efforts have been prioritized by many companies; however, the results of this study and past research show that teams in most industries aren’t proportionately representative of the U.S. population,” McGonagill tells CNBC Make It. “And worse, many people (like the nonbinary individuals we spoke with in our research) feel like they don’t belong.”

Or maybe they don't want dramatic, difficult, mentally unstable nutcases...

Good. It shows “they” have an uncured mental disorder.

Not really. Employers are just saving themselves the headache they know will occur later.

anyone who likes where they work and wants their company to succeed should never hire anyone using pronouns in person and especially on a resume

I'll file this in the "no shite" department.

Just because people “believe” something, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

Sounds like those “clear biases” are self-imposed. Narcissism will do that to people.

Makes sense. If I was hiring for anything if I ever came across a resume that felt the need to tell me their pronouns it would go straight into the trash no questions asked

Oh, frick off. The last time I had to hire for a position I threw away every resume with pronouns listed on them, regardless of what they were. Why? Because anyone including them is either all in on that ridiculous "gender fluidity" fricktardery or they're so easily cowed that they just acquiesce to whatever they think people want.

I don't want either of those mindsets in my workplace.

100% throwing those resumes in the trash

ETA: hell, I’d get pissed at one of my managers for interviewing them the 1st or 2nd time and even bringing the resume to me

They need to stop just doing it privately and call out the insanity publicly.
