Then there are plenty of other countries for you to choose from. Hit the road.

Then I guess you don't agree with Thomas Jefferson.

"I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery"

You might not have to see a pitbull or Tyrone in Asian countries but then they can also weld your door shut whenever they get the notion. But apparently that's what you want.

Chows

I hate pit bulls and pit bull owners as much as anyone on this board but sweet-natured pits do exist. There is no such thing as a sweet-natured chow. Every chow wants to kill you. They're not too common these days but I remember tons of them back in the '70s.

In other words, we all must either fight with our hands or use a weapon against these mongrels. yes, I have no problem carrying when out of the home. Meanwhile, gooooooooooberment certainly tries to keep so many of us with the inability to arm ourselves so I guess we are left with giving up an arm or leg to subdue the maniacal mongrels.

Too many people are being attacked, injured, or killed by unsupervised animals. Something must be done to increase the supervision or control of them.

Absolutely not true. I raised Chows for years and I've had some that were extremely sweet. My last male was 100lbs and would take him to parks and kids loved petting him. I've also had a couple that strangers couldn't come near me but it's mostly the females that were that mean.

I agree with you, but give them back corporal punishment. Not abuse, corporal punishment.
The leftist took corporal punishment from parents long ago.
Kids need to grow up with consequences, and parents need a tool to give them consequences. You can't even make them "time out" without the threat of it.

It's a big reason we have so many entitled undisciplined people today.

Yeah, I posted in an OT thread a little over a month ago about an 11 year old boy in my neighborhood who was jumped by three pit bulls while riding his bike, they drug him into a ditch and he would up losing approximately 70% of his scalp and part of an ear.

When I wanted to get a dog after finishing school 30 years ago, I was researching breeds that I liked, and Chow was one of them. From what I read, a Chow is pretty-much always a one-person dog, so I steered clear.

Was that accurate?

I think that the only reason Chihuahuas do not make these lists is that you cannot consider something a "mauling" if the (alleged) dog attack does not break the skin.

I submit that more people are bitten by Chihuahuas than any other breed. Afterward, there just is never any physical proof it happened.

Here is a report

I knew dogsbite.org would make an appearance. You may as well get political news from CNN.

I have no problem with punishing people for vicious dogs who harm others, and any dog with a human aggression problem should be put down if he's not some sort of working dog that serves a purpose. I just don't care what breed it is. Breed legislation is asinine.

That is the key. It should also not be considered negligent homicide. It should be a much stiffer crime like 3rd degree murder. Until there is a real punishment for these killings and attacks for the owners, there won’t be any changes.

After that you're getting into very low danger. Some of it is related to how many people actually own the breed

And the type of person that owns the dog. Many of these “dangerous” dogs are quite expensive and the owners are more responsible. Our Neo as a breed is an incredibly vicious breed. She was a huge sweetheart, but we never assumed that breeding wasn’t still in there. We never made a big deal out of it, but she was never allowed free rein around strangers either. I’ve seen her get protective of the kids, I wouldn’t want that in full blown attack mode against anyone.
