One issue I have, and it may be age related, is that the sole must be very comfortable because I am on the trolling motor constantly. My non-trolling motor foot goes through hell if the sole isn't pretty much perfect.

I paid way too much for a set of Gruden's flip flops but I love them.

Anti-Slip and have a SeaDek footbed.

My yard work tennis shoes. The ones I cut grass in. Why would anyone have a special pair of shoes for fishing?....

I usually wear my Sperry authentic original 2 eyes. I have them in blue and they are also one of my "dress" shoes. They just hold up so well and clean up to look brand new when needed. I also have a canvas pair of Sperry halyard 2 eyes that are even better boat shoes IMHO, but since they are grey canvas I have to be careful to avoid staining them with blood and gross.

Or I just go barefoot and avoid all the deck hooks I've dropped like a fricking madlad!

I like these and have a pair. People may make fun of HeyDudes but ima tell y’all right now they are the lightest and most comfortable shoes I’ve worn for fishing. Cool and easy to wash and dry quickly. Cost about 35.

You are comparing hunting to sitting on a boat?.... I have tennis shoes that are dirty for working or fishing. Nicer tennis shoes for golf or walking the dog.

Do you get multiple colors of fishing shoes to match your mood as well?

You do realize how much sitting is involved with duck and deer hunting, right?

You must not do much fishing. I'm standing 80%+ of the time when I'm fishing. And my shoes can get wet quite often. Sorry if I'm not rocking socks and all white New Balance in the boat. Moron.

What a weird flex, though. Congrats on being too cool or manly to wear some sort of shoe specifically when you are fishing.

Can't have black soles or it will mark the hell out of the deck. Like to have toes and tops of feet covered, to somewhat avoid hooks, fins, etc. Feet often get wet. Go to the islands often after fishing and sometimes water is stained and can't see what I might step on barefooted or might wear shoes to walk across the island. Plenty of reasons...

To the OP, I've been using some under armor ones that look, feel and lace like a normal tennis shoe, but they drain water (not those awful Kilchis ones). Real comfortable. Only complaint is they can get stinky as hell. When it's cooler, I wear Xtratuffs

Wear some with the wrong soles on your buddy's boat and see if you get invited back

I for one, couldn't care less what other people think, or how something looks if it just so happens to be super comfortable and useful to me.

I got these about 3 years ago and they just finally started to fall apart. Just reordered another. LINK
It feels as if i'm almost barefoot. It's got a nice thin sole that allows you to walk on rocks, as i've worn them hiking many times, and it's very breathable making the upper foot feel like you're barefoot.

That's more the style I was looking for. If you say they lasted you three years, I'm going to check them out. I'm gonna send the previous ones I got back. I'm gonna order another pair of some similar to these as well, and see which I prefer.
