Sounds like it’s time to advertise their positions to find people who wouldn’t mind showing up 3 days a week.

Isn’t the tech sector experiencing massive layoffs? And these folks are going to “revolt” over in-office vs. WFH?

Yeah it ain’t an employees market anymore in most tech fields. A few thousand quitting would do Amazon a major favor

You could’ve left the dog out of this diatribe. I actually believe in a dogs company bringing me comfort.

Simple enough that .. if you don't have to come into work to do your job .. they can / and will find someone else that won't show up and do the same job .. for less pay .. to do the same work you do. It's called outsourcing.

It's cute you think this is true for all jobs.

Which tells me your job is one that is readily outsourced.

maybe people aren’t working as much as they claim they are when they are working from home?
I post just as much either way. The only thing that changes is no commute and I wear super casual clothes at home.

I guess you believe you’re indispensable.

If you can WFH, India can do your work too for 1/3 the pay. They can even interpret x-rays thus less work for the radiologist here.

I WFH, I manage 10 resources in India, 45 in the Philippines, 5 in the US. This is absolutely false.

I work 60+ hours a week every week to make sure my offshore resources have enough direction to do shite correctly. They still manage to frick it up 8/10 times.

My onshore resources, I don't even have to tell them to work on stuff much less how to work on it.

Also it's no where near 1/3 the pay. IT industry averages are $32 offshore and just over 50 for an in house employee.

I have made it clear, I'm happy to go back to the office but understand I have obligations after work. Those 60 hour weeks will drop to 40 adding 2 hours of commute time.

WFH works if you have the right employees.

Yep. Everyone can be replaced. Those people that work in the warehouses that actually have to work for a living have to show up every day. Why do the people that can’t be bothered to show up to sit an office in front of a computer think THEY are the ones that can’t be replaced? shite is a joke.

For every one of those people that want to quit because they don’t want to show up 3 days a week, there are ten more that would beat down the door for the opportunity to show up 5 days a week.

And they’d beat down the door because they don’t have the skills to use the doorknob.

I don't blame them. I haven't shown up to an office in 1.5 years. It is fantastic

Plant workers are angry people have it better than them though.

I WFH and this is absolutely false. Work more than I did in an office. This kind of take is from uneducated workers who would wfh if they had the skillset for the jobs that can be done from home.

Nice of you to think you know, but your intuition could not be more incorrect. Carry on.

I wish I could come to work only 3 days.

This is soft but they can stay at home I don't care. Helps my commute.

This is simple. If 95%+ of your job requires you to use a computer or a computer is the best method of completing the work, then there is no fricking reason to drive into an office and sit around a bunch of other people on computers.

Exactly. Information based jobs can be completed from anywhere. And if your employees have a better quality of life because they can work from home and maintain productivity, who gives a shite? Most people are not gung-ho for their jobs more than they need to be.
