I don't know why anyone would, but I'm just wondering how well a straight razor shaves.

Tried one for a while for the novelty of it. Got tired of keeping it sharp. A dull one sucks donkey balls.

A double edged safety razor is the apex of shaving technology. Everything before and after is a step in the wrong direction.

Is it a better shave than modern razors?

I’ve tried them and I suck at it plus they’re a pain in the arse to keep up with. Now I will say when handled by a professional, they’re amazing.

I was looking at getting a Dovo 5/8 a while back but decided against it. Seemed like a pain in the arse and I've already got a good Feather DE

I use one if I don’t want a beard. Shave is better if you use soap rather than gel/foam. It’s not as quick.

Dorco ST301 blades. The Korean lady that cuts my mop was surprised as to how much smoother they were than the "default" blades she was provided by the salon.

Almost bled to death the first time but have gotten better by going slowly and using pre-shave oil...highly recommend the oil.

Paid for a straight razor shave at a barber shop once. Baw didn't know my grains and gave me razor burn.

My old man used one for a while. Leather strap and all. He seemed to like it, but it was work keeping it sharp.

It’s a good way to lose a lot of blood. It’s cool and all but stick with a Gillette.

In experienced barber hands, yes. Problem the experienced hands are passing away or being driven out of business.

Safety razor is the next best thing, Today's cartridge razors suck.
