New Orleans problems are caused by New Orleans residents who do nothing to fix the problems.

I lived in an unknown cul de sac neighborhood near the fairgrounds for about 8 years and left almost two years ago.
From my pov, it's pretty much the same town as when I moved there. In some ways it's better (I could tow my boat in and out today, and I actually drive through town on my way home from fishing most of the time), in other ways it's worse. The apologists for Latoya are so sad, the crime is obviously so much worse, and in general it feels like a lot of the rest of the country feels where it's a going out of business flash sale where every grifter is trying to get their greasy hands on whatever coin they can.
We'll probably buy a small condo there because we do spend almost every weekend there, but we'll likely never live there again.

The city was a lost cause 30 years ago.
The daiquiri shop at the bend of Carrollton used have huge $2 poboys on Thursdays, there was a Popeyes at the corner of canal and Carrollton we’d walk to
Heck Endymion rolled on Saturdays, and mid city went all the way down canal on Sundays

And there’s nothing like it anywhere else.
NO is dirty as frick, dangerous, dilapidated and has much more going against than for it.
If Mardi Gras is the reason you find redeeming qualities that explains a lot since it’s an abnormality for the actual NO experience.

One of the many stupid words created by idiots like yourself. Once you and your ilk find out how stupid it is to be a part of the usage for that word, then gaslight it onto the people who thought it was dumb in the first place.

Man there are just some absolutely triggered angry and miserable people on this board.
Poor, angry, lower middle class white folks. They hate everything. Especially anything fun.

I'd guess that TD has a far higher percentage of college graduates than the general public just due to the nature of the website

I’m neither poor, nor angry, nor am I lower middle class. Actually I feel like it’s primarily lower middle class that enjoy what New Orleans has to offer.
My only memory of NOLA and visiting the FQ is driving in to see a collapsed building with corpses in it to greet me, the endless smell of piss and stale beer to wade through while you are seeing the sights, and crappy sugar bombs called drinks. It’s a city where I watched multiple people let their dogs take a crap on the busy sidewalk and just kept on walking. Could not even be bothered to pick up their own dog shite in what was considered a nicer area of the city.
I left with the distinct impression that the people who live in NOLA and the people who run it don’t give a damn about the city.

Wow, you formed some strong opinions after a visit to the FQ.

Tell the liberals since they mostly push the division.

Went to the FQ during covid and probably has to recommend his favorite poboy shop to everyone when they mention a trip to NOLA.
Let me tell you about this little place
called Cafe Beignet
