The dream has nothing to do with higher education being unhealthy. It’s simply a reflection of unaddressed anxiety the dreamer feels. Could be about their work or family life.

You don’t actually think the “going to school naked” dream has anything to do with algebra or physics do you?

If it were that simple, all we’d have to do is watch a movie with our favorite actress or model right before bed and we’d have a dream about her. Doesn’t usually work that way.

Still have these. It's gotten worse from a student perspective, though. I used to be in class but had skipped and not been there at all going up to a test. Now, it's that I have some class and I don't even know where it is on some fictional dream campus.

I have both. That one you describe, exactly, and also one without the drop element where I intended to take it and even needed it but got lazy (maybe an element, guilt?) and started skipping and then got weeks behind and then the avoidance kicks in.

I once had a version where I needed one final econometrics class and I accidentally signed up for a belly dancing class in some small office space off campus

I ended up taking part in the belly dancing briefly and then ran out into the sidewalk and was super stressed

Too weird to forget that dream

I also get a version where I receive a letter in the mail that I never completed some high school class,

That’s the first response/reaction. But it’s really tied to something more present and relevant.

I'm fricking 60 and still have these fricking things. I had one about 6 months ago where I couldn't even find my dorm room... I NEVER LIVED IN A DORM. Frick those dreams.

This is EXACTLY what all of my such dreams are. I’ve had this exact dream several dozen times over the years (graduated LSU in 2003). They’re painful and stressful and can easily ruin a good night’s sleep.

I occasionally have other dreams where it’s nearing end of senior year 2nd semester and I haven’t done anything yet all year on my engineering senior design project. That’s probably even more stressful.

Exact same dream. Crazy. I wake up and celebrate my degree all over again. Thanking God I don’t have to go take a test I’m not ready for.

Yep

I’m 58 and still have them.

I had no idea they were so common.

For me it's army dreams where I either have a pt test I'm not ready for or I have some function to go to and I'm missing something from my uniform and can't find it. I got out of the army over 20 years ago.

I graduated in the 90’s also and the one I’ve been having lately is I really didn’t graduate and need 15 more credit hours. In the dream I’m the same age I am now with a wife and kids but I’m forced to move back in the dorm. To top it off I can’t find my class schedule. I know what classes I’m supposed to take but not where or what time so I just wander around campus going into random rooms asking if I’m supposed to be here. It’s very unsettling.

I have had those.

I retired at the end of the year, had a couple of recurring themes that would be continuing stories from one time to the next:

1) I enlisted in a special Army program for 60+ year olds. We didn't do anything but over a few weeks I "completed" it and just went back home. Then I accepted a new job in a later dream and worried about when the Army was coming for me from that program I did.

2) Before I ended working I had recurring dreams where I would work on shite just like work but it would be nonsensical and I couldn't figure it out. I would pick up about where I left off from dream to dream (not every night, just when they happened). This continued for about a week after I quit and I thought, "Well shite this is going to suck" but thankfully I have retired in Dreamworld too.

I also have alot of dreams where I murder people and am trying to cover up the crime.

I also have alot of dreams where I need to use the bathroom but can't find a working bathroom.
