When George Bailey realizes his fortune was his friends in "It's A Wonderful Life".
When Rudy realizes he's been accepted to Notre Dame.

This.
On The Rewatchables epsiode where they covered SPR, I was surprised when Simmons, Fennessey and Ryan all shite on that scene. I thought that was one of the more authentic non-combat scenes and pieces of dialogue.
This is a man who not only saw terrifying combat but also had to live with the fact that many people died so that he could come home, and he had to live with that burden for the rest of his life (in addition to being the only son his mother had left).

I just will not watch this. Too sad.
It's a Wonderful Life
Terms of Endearment (after watching it once, I'll never watch again)
Steel Magnolias
Remember the Titans, from the accident on. I usually just stop watching right before the accident.

The ending of Road to Perdition when Tom Hanks' character left his son behind.
The ending of the Road when Viggo's character is sad he can't continue to protect his son.

That entire movie is monumentally bleak and depressing but very well made. I haven't read McCarthy's book for comparison though. I have a copy in my collection but have a hard time rewatching even as "good" as it is.

Still have never seen Marley and Me because I just know what will happen.
The big ones that get me are The Green Mile, Armageddon (since I became a father), and when Forrest meets his son for the first time and just how proud of him that he is (also after having kids).
