I’m finally gonna break down and buy a rotomolded cooler. What’s the general consensus on the best bang for your buck?

(besides the old obvious answer)

I have a yeti (that was a gift), a RTIC and a no colors. I can't tell the difference as far as holding ice. So I'd buy the cheapest one I could find.

Got an Xspec 60 quart off of amazon a few years ago and got lucky... Apparently lots of people had the inside liner suck in from a defect in one of the penetrations (drain or vacuum break) and after that they were useless. I'd try my luck again versus the big bucks.

I just bought a Canyon Cooler but it was on sale so I'm not sure how their regular prices stack up . Weight was one of the things I looked at for a given size; the damn things are heavy enough without buying one on the heavy end of the scale. A Grizzly 20 qt is 16 lbs, the Canyon Cooler 22 is 10 lbs.

Yeah just buy anything. They are way better than the white igloos.

RTIC, Yeti, Bison, Yukon, K2 I’ve got them all. Unless you don’t have access to ice for an extended period of time then buy whatever.

My ranch is 7 miles from a bulk ice machine and I’ve got a couple freezer and fridges.

I'm a big fan of the RTIC ultra lights. Lighter and more interior room than equivalent yeti. Much better price too. Only complaint is the black feet. I use two of them all the time.

This is pretty much my reasoning. When I went to NM in August for pronghorn, by day 2, when we killed one, we had lost half the ice we started with. Wasn’t a short drive to get any. I would have preferred having a better cooler for that trip.

Agree. All the same when I comes to rotomolded. No colors was the best deal running.

there’s not many things I own that I’d fight to keep. Those I’ll definitely fight to keep

Magellan ice chests are as good as any and probably one of the cheapest you’ll find

A relative sent one down to us after Michael, I think it’s a 65. No complaints. I’d read that some of the lids warp in the sun but it hasn’t been an issue with mine.
