Well yeah, especially after they got burned on their decision give Flacco, at the time, the largest deal in NFL history only to have him fail to lead them to playoffs all but one of his final 6 years with the team (he was 4-5 before getting hurt his last year there when they would make the playoffs on the back of Jackson)

How do you tell a player he's not wanted, without telling a player he's not wanted?

So has his availability. He's been out for the year after game 12 the past 2 seasons, in 2021 being day-to-day with a bone bruise and missing their last 4 games and in 2022 missing 6 games for a knee sprain that was supposed to be a 1-3 week injury. Either his durability is a developing concern or he checks out when things are going his way which would be equally concerning to me. My gut tells me the latter given he quit playing when playoff hopes looked grim in 2021 and when he was pissed off about his contract situation this year.

I wouldn’t give Lamar $100M guaranteed period. $100M apart? Lulz

Would rather spend the money on offensive line and weapons and have a quarterback on a rookie deal or a cheap ish free agent instead of allocating 1/4 of the salary cap towards an injury-prone qb. Mahomes is the exception to the rule.

A HUGE guarantee is problematic for a QB who depends on his legs. One injury or just some age and the fall off is dramatic historically.
