I agree.

But Blank is 80 and is getting desperate.

If he does do it, it would bring people around to the point that I've been making on here for 2 years that it's time for him to sell the team B/c it'd be obvious that he is clueless.

No doubt, but lets not pretend they are remotely on the same level. And while its a ridiculous amount of money, what is the alternative? With a healthy Jackson, Baltimore is a perennial playoff team and most years, a Super Bowl contending team. Without him, they are in NFL hell. No where near contending but too good to tank.

Without him, they won a Super Bowl and had more playoff wins with Joe Flacco. Baltimore doesn’t need Lamar to be a playoff or Super Bowl contender.

Don't blame Baltimore. He hasn't even been able to play in the playoffs the last two years because he can't stay healthy with his style of play.

Didn’t Mahomes reset the market?

If they really only offered him 133 guaranteed, which is 30 mil less than Kyler and washed up Russ, that's pretty insulting.

So some guy at ESPN says they COULD be $100M apart. Basically having no clue. Then ESPN uses the random quote to push it as news.

And OP states it as fact.

Is it just me or why do we care what these guys make? They all make too much and I wish no one would talk about it anymore.

Tired of hearing of contract disputes.

So they need someone as good as Joe Flacco was that season, which was pretty damn good. David Carr? Jimmy Garoppolo? A rookie late in the first round? None of those guys are as good as Jackson or even Flacco. And as this thread is about money, the Ravens made Flacco the highest paid player in the NFL after that season.

Crazy stuff. Lamar Jackson, a former MVP winner, is gonna be on the open market after his rookie contract expires. Easily the #1 UFA this offseason.

You ever heard of a franchise tag?

I would bet he would sit out rather than play with the tag. The NFLPA is pushing his negotiations to end with a fully guaranteed contract. After Murray, Watson, and Wilson I wonder if owners will draw a line in the sand.

It's hard to see committing that much money to a guy who runs as much as he does.

The Ravens defense isn’t that good anymore.

Not to mention the competition in the AFC right now with the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills I don’t see the Ravens beating out all those teams to win the AFC in the next 3 years

And who literally just missed the most important part of their season because of it

I tend to agree. I just think it is even less likely if they lose Jackson.
