A friend of mine is banned from Mexico for bringing a gun, too. Only, they went on a hunting trip, so it was an epic frickup but still a fun story. Of all the criminals that cross the border, they worried about some dove hunters.

yeah they don't care about the criminals...they get their cut. They care about looking like they are doing something..so citizens pay for honest mistakes
