On thr first day of black history month.

quote:

A New York public school has apologized for serving an “inexcusably insensitive” meal during Black History Month.

The incident reportedly took place on Feb. 1 at Nyack Middle School, when students were offered a chicken-and-waffles lunch with a side of watermelon.

I'm white, and that even sounds good to me. I wouldn't complain

Wish the served this kind of food when I was in school.

Its great to belong to a race that isn't offended by food that we actually like.

I’d like to know who came up with the menu and who complained. I bet both were white women.

The only solution is to ban all racist menus that contain fried chicken, waffles or watermelon.

Chicken and watermelon I get, but waffles? Replace the waffles with some collard greens and now you have something.

Ok, who doesn’t like fried chicken. Waffles, or water melon? That food is delicious and I’m tired of pretending it isn’t

I was 10-11 years old before I found out watermelon and fried chicken were "black" foods. By that age, my brother and I had spit and squeezed enough watermelon seeds at each other to plant a 40 acre patch and eaten while flocks of fryers.
