Jordy said Dale Brown was so determined to leave his legacy at LSU that he wanted his name on the basketball court. He had Collis Temple go speak to President Tate when he was first hired at LSU about adding Dale’s name to the court. Collis told Tate that if you want to make good friends here, doing this will make you a popular man. Tate agreed to it and now a year later, some people on the board are mad about equality and made phone calls to the governor. Gov. Edwards calls Tate and says I’m for equality are you? Those same board members are in Tate’s ear about equality and agreed to the name change. People close to Dale Brown said he is livid and they are worried that this might kill him.

Maybe it’s just me but I couldn’t give a single shite about any of this nonsense. Just a bunch of old fricks bickering about nothing.

This whole thing is fricking dumb and Brown's arrogance and selfishness has cast a pall over the program for the better part of 3 decades now.

Name the court after Red Panda or Quick Change and tell everyone else to frick off.

That’s what Jordy was saying, this is Louisiana politics at its finest. It’s a bunch of wasted time and energy when they could put all of this into something that matters.

Brown acts like he was Coach K here or something. You had a long career and minimal accomplishments. Ride off into the sunset man.

lol...why is so much being made about this?

Does anyone outside of the Dale Brown circle, and apparently some meddling politicians, really give two-shits?

Dale Brown should have never had his name on the court to begin with. But the fact that Dale and his team are livid over changing the name to Sue Gunter-Dale Brown court is comical to me. And to be fair when Kim Mulkey is done if she wins a Championship or two are we going to have a 3 person name court? Or just rename it all together to Kim Mulkey court? Like that is why its stupid to name the court after a Coach who never won a National Championship or played in one. He was a good recruiter but underperformed with the talent he brought in...just stupid

Didn’t we talk about this already?

The queen is gonna win two championships in a matter of five years and they are arguing over two average coaches who did some good things but lets be honest they were nothing to write home to mom about.

Just pathetic really. And if it's true Dale is lobbying for his name on the court then he is being petty about this.

No one cared about naming the court after Dale Brown either.

Will Wade was in the middle of a NCAA a scandal and getting blasted by the basketball media for it. Yet the same basketball media was pushing for LSU to name the basketball court after Dale Brown who had far more NCAA violations in his time as coach at LSU.

Sounds like Collis is giving Tate an ultimatum. Like most, I could care less about what the court’s name is, but pressuring Tate to do it is chicken shite.

Dale & Collis need to go away.

Here's the solution. Name one backboard Dale Brown backboard and the other Sue Gunter backboard. If you want to honor more people, just add more backboards.

I think this is below Tate’s pay grade. The president of the university shouldn’t be worried about the name on the basketball court.

Were I Tate, I’d have basically told Temple: “Go talk to Scott Woodward and don’t bother me with this shite.”
