Some of the worst things about the basketball program are Dale Brown and Collis Temple still hanging around. Dale Brown acting like he’s Coach K of our program is pathetic. I don’t give a crap what the name of the court is and the fact that the governor of LA is brought into this shows how sad this state truly is

If Mulkey brings home titles were naming it after her and be done with it.

Its not really about the names on the court. Its about LSU having progressives on its board going to the governor and pressuring him to push their agenda even though it was voted down by the board already. There are systems in place to get things done. You cant just use your political clout to get things you want pushed through after the board votes it down.

I personally am lobbying to have the new women’s housing at LSU named after Cecil Collins.

The unpopular governor was trying to ride the women’s basketball coach for popularity. He begged to walk out to the floor with the coach when she makes her grand entrance in front of the largest attended game in PMAC history. Might as well ask Brian Kelly to lead the team out of the tunnel before the Bama game. I wish Mulkey could have told him to shove it.

We haven't named anything after Press Mavarich have we?

LSU basketball begins and ends with 2 names: Pete Maravich and Shaq

Period. Yes, Dale brought Shaq to LSU. Big deal.

Had Dale won a championship, I might go along. The team, despite legit NBA talent at 3 spots on the floor DIDN'T and that is a knock on Brown, not support for his being made immortal.

Maravich-O'Neal Court at "whoeverpaysusmost" arena and I'll call it a day.

Everybody can agree it should be Shaquille O’Neal court if we had to pick but the board of supervisors can’t get out of their own way.

I never thought LSU should have named the court after anyone. But Brown had great success at LSU WELL before Shaq arrived. 9 NCAA Tournaments, 2 Final Fours, a couple of Elite Eight appearances, 3 SEC Championships.

Maravich was a great, great player. But, unfortunately, he was largely a one-man-show on some very average teams. Like him or not, the apex of LSU basketball, men or women, was the Dale Brown era. Specifically from 1979-1993. LSU was never more popular before or since. It was much tougher to get a seat in the PMAC than Tiger Stadium.

Again, I don't think the court should be named after anyone. But give credit where credit is due. If you asked me who was the face of the best era in LSU basketball history...it was Brown. Shaq was only there for 3 years of that period. And, arguably, he wasn't even the biggest star for one of those seasons. That was Chris Jackson.

Frankly, if you do not win a national championship in basketball the way it has been setup for years, should not get a court named after you.

This is literally a few rich TAF members throwing a temper tantrum because they aren’t getting what they want from LSU.

Welcome to the life of the “normal” fans.

Sounds like the real issue and the real “embarrassment” here is Brown being an egomaniac prick

Would be a more embarrassing way to go out than his last 6 seasons.

Ridiculous

I wish Tate would have told CT and DB "I'll make my friends on my own"

Catering to this is similar to Corporate World and being woke.

LSU has many other things that need addressing

Hate to break it to you, but the BOS members are all probably top 10 ranking in TAF

Dale Brown was a great recruiter, motivator and marketer. He put LSU Basketball on the map. He was not a basketball tactician and failed miserably while having a stable of talented players. Once Art Tollis and Ron Abernathy left, his incompetence managing the game was apparent. He failed to bring home the trophy.

I hate to see Coach Dale Brown go out this way. He worker hard, preached hard, and helped people. But Dale always had that inner anger. Now, it seems to be about him. Dale likes Dale.

I could buy it if only he won one single national championship. But he couldn’t even do that.
