Why doesn't Russia just destroy Ukraine?

What is their goal? I am unsure the complexity of this. They have an overwhelming army. If they want Ukraine why don't they just take it?

For Russia, it's a war of attrition. It's more about destroying the Ukrainian military and it's ability to be a problem in the future than it is about quickly seizing territory.

They want to go out on their own terms. Russia only has a few decades left as a country, they either get destroyed by NATO or they die slowly from an aging population and low birth rates. They prefer the latter.

Why destroy? They’re reclaiming territory. They don’t want to destroy infrastructure to have to rebuild it.

If Russia wanted Ukraine destroyed, it would have been leveled last February/ March.

I honestly believe they are in on it. We are funding them as well. Its all one big bank job and the bank is the American Taxpayer.
