It is a war after all

Ukraine should not have allowed a foreign bully nation to take over its elections and run a coup against the Ukraine citizens

They also should not have allowed bioweapons labs to be built there by the same evil country

Really!!

And thus give the Russians a blank check to take Crimea, the Donbas and whatever else they wanted. That is the party line.

Don’t forget the Nazis and Jews.

this is ridiculous but I’ll play along.

Why was the Ukrainian military a threat to Russia before Russia invaded? And why has Ukraine needed so much Western materiel if it was so formidable to begin with?

Long time, first time, I’ll hang up and listen…

I was praying Russia wasn’t going to attack Ukraine. I still pray someone takes out Putin and Russia comes to their senses.
If a treaty is feasible I hope it gets done.

Meanwhile, I hope Ukraine kicks Russian butt.

I think it’s because “you break it, you buy it.” People will disagree and dismiss that suggestion, but look at it this way: would Pakistan want to destroy Afghanistan and then get out of there and just act as if “well, we whooped their arse, let’s take it to the house, playas”?? What would happen next is a nasty power vacuum in their neighboring country where who knows what the hell would come of it, only to have the lawlessness spill over into their own country, creating risks and threats to the stability of their own government.

Bottom line, they want and need stability and security with their neighbors. Do I have anything whatsoever to offer to support this hypothesis? Nope. I shot straight from the hip and have zero idea what I’m really talking about. Sounds good though I think.

You believe a country that big will go out in 2p years because of aging and low birth rates?

Why doesn't Russia just destroy Ukraine?

Because eventually, they will have to rebuild the infrastructure that is destroyed and hopefully, be able to coexist in peace. Historically, the people of these two countries have a lot more in common with one another other than we have with either.

At this point it could be the case. But that is a decision that was made for them. Their inept first few days of the war put them in the position to dig in.

I think they thought they were going to roll up int here and people would be like "well ok I guess Ukraine is a state of Russia again" and go about their business. It didn't work out but they can't withdraw because of pride.

Destroying Ukraine doesn't do much for their agenda because the world would go against them even harder and culturally (domestically) it's bad move because of the connected history between the people of Russia and Ukraine.

Damn, someone doesn't understand Pakistani politics.

Which is why former Eastern Bloc countries led the push to be included in Western organizations.

The shite you guys say.

Die slowly with their sovereignty intact. That’s what they want but it’s not gonna happen, they share too many borders with countries they consider hostile.

I said a few decades, the guy in the video I posted said 2050 or 2070 even without this war. They’ve had big “melon scoops” taken out of their population in the last century. WWI, WWII, collectivization under Stalin, etc. The Russian ethnicity itself is fading fast. Not enough young people having babies and no immigration to replace anyone.
