Days after letting Nielsen go to the falcons. This Franchise gets more embarrassing every single day.

The #Saints parted ways with co-defensive coordinator/secondary Kris Richard, sources tell me and @RapSheet. New Orleans' other co-DC, Ryan Nielsen, recently took the DC job in Atlanta. Significant changes on D.

I don’t get it… I really don’t…

the only functional part of the team was defense, so they jettison everyone on that side.

I wish we could have kept Nielsen in hindsight.

If you got to New Orleans after the GW Bush administration, rent your home.
Truly a good ole boys organization now, run by a group of buddies.

We Fired him! Now we don't have to worry about the Falcs stealing him!

I honestly have no clue what this team is doing.
Though with the defense it’s clear Dennis Allen still runs it so it’s whatever I guess

Guess he'll be in Denver

WTF?!?!?! Defense didn't set records this year but they sure were a hell of a lot better than our offense even without Lattimore for a lot of games, Adebo for several games, Maye, Davenport, Werner, and Turner being a healthy scratch. And fricking somehow Carmichael is still employed?!?!?!

Faux outrage [ON] OFF
Having co defensive coordinators at the NFL level tells you all you need to know about who was calling the show. And he’s still employed

Whatever. Hire Rob Ryan again to help the tank.

This is so strange. Why not get rid of Richard and promote Nielsen (obviously Nielsen may have still left wanting total control).
And the offense which was dogshit is still in place.

Weird way to spell Pete Carmichael

The Saints intend to restructure the defensive coaching staff. Dennis Allen will continue to oversee everything and run that side of the ball. But the team will hire one defensive coordinator, a defensive line coach and a secondary coach, per sources.

He was fired by Seattle and thrown out with Garrett in Dallas. Maybe he’s not that good of a coach.

Letting Richard go makes lots of sense to me. He is not good enough to be a DC so they are not going to let him be a reason a new DC does not want to take the job.

This tells me that Allen wants complete control of the defense. His butt is on the line next year so this is his opportunity to do things his way. We will see how it works.

Idk what we are complaining about with us letting go of Richard. DA is sabotaging himself. These are decisions that get you fired if they don’t work out. This is what we want to get him out and get Caleb Williams.
We need to prepare for a really bad football team next year. The defense will regress and the offense will be worse. This is what we want. This is the only way Loomis is forced to reevaluate his approach and stop looking for the next Sean or for someone that will never question him and inject some new blood into the organization

Defense is literally the only thing Allen gets any benefit of the doubt on from me, so no issue with this at all.
