Trump is pro vaccine, he needs to to back Desantis for the betterment of this country. Of course he won't though

He's trying to attack his opponent at a point of relative strength. If he can convince the base that he and DeSantis are relatively similar on an issue where they both have a weakness w/r/t the base then it's a net win for him.

You love to attack and discredit the source on many other topics like when people have concerns about vaccines, but I see you have no problem here slurping knob on a politico.com hit piece. Thanks for showing me a little bit more of where you stand, it helps us further determine just how full of shite you are in Covid threads when you play that false valor doctor bullshite of yours.

I get that you're not my biggest fan.

But it's not a bad idea for Trump to dirty DeSantis up on this issue when DeSantis has spent most of the past couple of years trying to win credibility as a COVID-response skeptic and Trump has been wanting to take credit for the vaccine. I'm not saying it's a good general election strategy, but he'll have time to pivot on that. It's a good Republican primary strategy.

On the alternative timeline of Earth-2, RW media and Republicans could have rallied behind the vaccines and tried to play up their efficacy relative to the weak-arse Sinovac and foreign vaccines leading to the mess China is in, but Trump has tried to bring the base along and he got booed. This is the best play he's got at the moment.

I don't think that is a winning strategy.

His strategy will be to show Desantis is part of the swamp

Next he'll probably warn us that DeSantis will hire John Bolton, Bill Barr, Mike Pence & Rex Tillerson while cozying up to Lindsey Graham and handing out endorsements to Mitch McConnell, Ronna McDaniel, Kevin McCarthy and Mitt Romney.

I didn't like either pecker heads policies on covid. They both did stupid shite.

I didn't like you couldn't evict frickers who couldn't or were not required to pay rent during covid.

I don't like Trump's, Desantis and Abbotts stance on limiting who I can sell my private property to.

Government is contradictory to Liberty.

If we are willing to give up essential Liberty for temporary safety, we deserve neither.

Fair enough, that's a solid point. You know where I stand and I don't want to hijack this thread into a vax thread.

Trump was the OG pro vaccine pusher- he took credit for the speed of development of the vaccines -he also was the OG shutdown proponent- remember when he held that cruise ship from porting?

As previously noted, he also got irritated that Kemp opened GA “too early”

Thoughts on this?
You mean preempting DeSantis's argument against Trump, and turning it against DeSantis instead?

Seems politically adroit to me. How about you?

In reality, both men have a good record on that accord. But in a political fight, neither will give credit where credit is due.

All he has to do is let trump keep talking. Don’t respond.

Desantis banned people from Louisiana at the start of Covid which was a knee jerk over zealous reaction. Will he over react that way again in response to another issue down the line?

Trump may or may not win, but claiming he's "washed up" when he has a 30 point lead in the polls ain't gonna win you debate any points.

The checkpoints existed for almost 4 months.

I don't know where it lasted 4 months. Like I said, I was in Fla 8 weeks, not 4 months, after the initial 14 days to slow the spread BS.

While I don't like the state restricting movement of people, this seemed like it was 1. a reaction/ precaution, 2. loosely exercised, 3. stopped as soon as it was realized it was not needed.

It’s risky imo. Desantis can point to Trump being very very pro vaccine and also going after Georgia/kemp and Sweden for opening up too soon

Lol. The lies are going to always be pointed out.

This has been talked about so much here that this has all been covered and even you have to know this will come back to bite in the end.

Been here since I was 6 months old, minus college. That's 40+ years.

It seemed exactly like authoritarian overreach any which way you slice it.
