Rep Rick Allen (R) of Georgia, recently told a reporter that he’s for raising the retirement age. He said “People want to work longer” and that they come up to him and tell him that all the time.

Another political leader either out of touch or just lying again.

People can work as long as they want to…you don’t have to raise the retirement age to do that.
Nobody is telling him that.

The minority want to work longer because they know they'll drop dead months after they stop working. The rest want to work longer because they'll be homeless if they don't.

Frick the Georgia Republican Party . I like the Clyde yankee transplant dude from Athens who held out against McCarthy, and I can tolerate MTG, although her stock has dropped some as of late. That’s about it.

Yet he will retire and be massively more wealthy because of his job, as a legislature.

As average life expectancy goes up the age of retirement will keep getting pushed out.

Also who else is going to pay for all the useless people that don’t work but get checks from the government? The more people that get added to the hand out brigade the longer all of us tax payers have to work.

Close. It's the frickwads passing bills in Congress that are pushed by lobbyists to frick over Americans. The White House is just the rubber stamp signing it into law.

Of course, that’s the only way to make social security viable, never have to pay or out.
