“It’s been a long time coming, but I’m hearing Mel Gibson will finally be shooting “The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection” in a few months. A late Spring production is currently being eyed with Jim Caviezel set to return in the role of Jesus.”

quote:

The film is expected to once again be directed by Mel Gibson who has been working with Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace on the screenplay. As of this writing, it appears that they’ve gone through six drafts of the script. As for the storyline, here’s what we know:

“‘Resurrection’ would focus on the twenty-four hours encompassing Jesus’ passion and the events that occurred three days between his crucifixion and resurrection.”

Did you see how the first one ended? As noted in the first post, it will be the next 3 days through Jesus' resurrection.

Went to church and sunday school until 18 and never knew about the hell part during the 3 days. Will be an interesting depiction.

You’re a citizen in the western world and you’re that ignorant of the story of Christ?

The 1st one was great and gut wrenching at the same time. This one should be more up lifting since it is the "other side" of the cross.

Looking forward to it.

my sarcasm meter must be broke.

i thought you were kidding until i googled it.

https://www.gotquestions.org/where-was-Jesus.html

quote:

In the discussion of where Jesus was for the three days between His death and resurrection, another passage is often mentioned. First Peter 3:18–20 says, “Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared” (ESV). Some take this to mean that Jesus, sometime between His death and resurrection, went to hell/Hades and made an announcement of some type to the “spirits” imprisoned there. Within this interpretation, the spirits Jesus addressed could be either demonic or human.

quote:

According to this alternate interpretation, Christ was in Noah (spiritually) when Noah preached to his doomed neighbors. To better explain, here is a paraphrase of 1 Peter 3:18–20: “Jesus was put to death in the flesh, but He was made alive in the Spirit (it was through this same Spirit that Jesus long ago preached to those who are right now in prison—those souls who disobeyed during the time of God’s great patience when Noah was building the ark).” According to this view, Jesus preached spiritually to the people of Noah’s time, and He did this through the prophet Noah, in much the same way that God speaks through us today when we proclaim God’s Word.

we learned the Apostle's Creed when i was younger

quote:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

I've always understood that His True Purpose was fulfilled between Good Friday and Easter, and that is when all of the real action happened.

Unfortunately, it happens almost entirely off screen. Not sure how you make a movie out of that without including mostly the interaction documented after Easter

I've read the book, but won't post any spoilers for those waiting on the movie.

The first movie was so impactful on me that I cried like a baby watching it and that’s something I have never done with any movie.

When Mary is watching him carry the cross, falling down, and getting back up and he says something along "I am the one who makes all things new". Seeing Mary's pain watching that
